Role: The Executive Vice President (Sponsorship/Revenue Generation) will oversee NACDA’s corporate partnerships and all revenue generating streams, while cultivating relationships with both annual sponsors and event-specific sponsors whose support is critical to the success of the Association. This individual will actively work to steward existing partners while pursuing new opportunities with outside organizations that share similar goals and objectives to NACDA’s mission of education and professional development for athletics administrators.


Duties:

  • Develop and execute a strategic revenue generation plan that aligns with NACDA’s overarching objectives within collegiate athletics and higher education. This includes collaborating with the CEO to formulate annual budgets aimed at cultivating diverse revenue streams and achieving predefined goals.
  • Conduct proactive research to identify potential corporate partners and maintain regular engagement to explore sponsorship opportunities, prioritizing face-to-face meetings whenever possible.
  • Cultivate relationships on a regular basis, while meeting frequently in person to discuss sponsorship opportunities.
  • Create mutually beneficial partnerships that align with the sponsors’ objectives and NACDA’s mission.
  • Negotiate and oversee contractual agreements with clients to optimize profitability.
  • Actively promote and sell space in the Exhibit Hall as part of the Annual NACDA & Affiliates Convention, the largest tradeshow in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Participate on NACDA’s Leadership Team, engaging in proactive critical thinking that results in the completion of special projects.
  • Collaborate with NACDA’s communications’ team to enhance existing sponsor assets and develop innovative initiatives that benefit sponsors and NACDA members alike.
  • Actively manage the NACDA Job Center relationship with select third party vendor to ensure maximum visibility and revenue growth.
  • Assist in planning and executing multiple annual NACDA events, including attendance at the Convention and several smaller professional development and educational meetings held throughout the academic year, focusing on engaging sponsors, exhibitors and corporate attendees.
  • Provide monthly sales reports to Chief Executive Officer.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.


Salary and Benefits: Commensurate with experience. Includes medical, dental, vision and 401k. Remote work opportunities available.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated individual with a proven track record in sales.
  • Experienced intercollegiate athletics background within a conference, association, company/organization or institutional setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing corporate partnerships that drive revenue growth.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships and collaborating within a small, dedicated team (family) environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to devise and implement plans for expanding and diversifying revenue streams.
  • Advanced proficiency in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, effectively representing NACDA to diverse internal and external stakeholders and sports community leaders.
  • Experience with crafting compelling proposals and delivering polished sales presentations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adept at developing solutions.
  • Demands a championship mindset from staff members that focuses on integrity, individual contribution and accountability, collaboration, and competitive urgency.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, in particular Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience in event and meeting planning.


Education and Experiential Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) with 12-15 years of experience in fundraising, development and strategic partnerships.
