Overview

We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to join 500 Global as Executive Director, Global Climate Strategy.

This role is integral to driving our global climate investment thesis development, startup and investor program education, and fundraising. In addition, this role is expected to interface with key external stakeholders, including LPs, governments, and other relevant entities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in leading or substantially supporting climate and sustainability investing across global emerging markets, have a relevant global or regional network in this sector, and a positive personal brand or thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and execution of a comprehensive global climate impact strategy aligned with our organizational goals and in collaboration with the firm's leadership.
• Support fundraising efforts for climate-focused strategies, engaging with key investors, foundations, endowments, sovereign funds, and other institutions.
• Manage, build, and grow a network of climate-focused experts and stakeholders to support our portfolio companies and global operations.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise on climate impact matters, including best practices and processes.
• Represent 500 Global at climate-related global or regional events, and engage in public policy discussions and advocacy as appropriate.
• Contribute to the design and development of climate-related education programs for startups and investors.
  
  

Key Qualifications

• At least 7 years in a senior leadership role focused on managing or supporting climate investments.
• Prior experience in venture capital, private equity, or a similar firm is a significant advantage.
• Proven track record in fundraising with diverse investor profiles, including foundations, non-governmental organizations, and institutional investors.
• Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in adopting climate strategies within investing, particularly in emerging markets, and its intersection with public policy and regulation.
• Demonstrated experience in a multi-faceted role entailing substantial internal and external stakeholder management, aligning interests and executing plans.
• A personal passion and a strong commitment to driving positive global climate impact.
