Position Summary

The Director of Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of an organization's procurement processes and strategies. This pivotal role involves coordinating purchasing activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the procurement function supports the organization's goals and objectives. The Director of Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing costs, improving supply chain efficiency, and mitigating risks associated with procurement activities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic direction to implement all new policies, procedures, business processes, business systems and as well implement robust data analytics capabilities in the global procurement organization.
  • Lead collaborative efforts across business groups, functional teams, at multi levels to provide stable foundation for procedures & processes that will enable execution of Business & Supply goals.
  • Drives, develops, and tracks departmental KPIs. Uses data to drive continuous improvement including identifying opportunities, facilitating improvement activity, and leading change through the business process analytics system.
  • Develop and grow Procurement data analytics across multiple technology platforms and partners.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and business leaders to define the strategy for operationalizing and scaling analytics solutions.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure current processes are maintained, new processes are documented and implemented, and efficiencies are achieved.
  • Creates, delivers, and leads the strategic direction for Master Data Management and Category Management, providing accurate, consistent, and complete master data across the organization.
  • Leads overall business process, business system usage and reporting that provides accurate, consistent, and complete master data across the organization.
  • Creates Procurement’s Transaction strategy and drives the P2P System Strategy to gain greater efficiencies.
  • Develops and maintains practices, procedures, and tools to conduct process definition, measurement, and improvement.
  • Develop analytic methods to keep pace with Procurement’s continuing growth & increasing responsibilities.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks and projects.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Minimum 20 years’ relevant business experience with at least 15 years as a manager or above. Experience at a large construction firm specializing in utility and electrical construction desired.

Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities

  • High level technical aptitude. systems, process improvement, continuous improvement skills necessary.
  • 15+ years’ experience producing high quality, well-regarded, analytics and insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to support geographically dispersed construction projects.
  • Ability to think strategically and globally; ability to manage diverse stakeholder interests and expectations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong decision maker surrounding multi-million-dollar contracts and agreements and major policies.
  • Excellent project management skills to drive projects to closure and complete on-time.
  • Risk management skill set required to drive innovative solutions and problem-solving analysis and resolution.
  • Experience with implementing ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of implemented P2P process

  • Move about on the feet regularly. Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • May require travel.
  • Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  • Talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and by telephone.
  • Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
  • Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
