Database Developer

Our wealth management client in Philly is seeking a Database Developer to join their team in Philadelphia. This is a hybrid role reporting into Center City only once every Wednesdays! Join a team of 2 SQL server dba’s and 6 SQL server developers. They have snowflake in place and are looking for someone who has utilized it before and can help guide them with how to continue utilizing Snowflake in our environment along with strong SQL skills.

MUST HAVES:

• 5+ years minimum experience as a Database Developer/Data Engineer
• Very strong development in SQL: Creating SQL jobs, procedures, creating ETL’s
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server Applications and DB and related tools (SSIS/SSRS)
• Experience using Snowflake Data Cloud required.
• Hands-on development experience with Snowflake features such as Snow SQL; ASK ABOUT: Snow Pipe;Tasks; Streams; managing warehouses in snowflak,; Zero Copy Cloning; Optimizer; Metadata Manager; data sharing; and stored procedures.
• Experience with cloud data management platforms (AWS work experience preferred), including EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, and Lambda, particularly in database and data management contexts.

DAY TO DAY:

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable SQL code.
• Work closely with other team members to optimize and innovate database systems.
• Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve database performance issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Collaborate with business owners, users, consultants, and technicians to assist in implementing a comprehensive corporate data strategy.
• Identify potential new areas for focus and provide clarity around existing areas that still need to be fully defined or understood.
• Design, build, and improve data movement processes between on-premise and off-premise data stores.
• Lead efforts to optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
