Job Title: Channel Director – Marine, Automotive, Plumbing, Sporting Goods

Location: Greensboro, NC (Remote Considered)

Overview

As a Channel Director, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing sales strategies to drive business growth for the Marine, Sporting Goods, Automotive and Plumbing Channels. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including customer relationship management, strategic planning, revenue management, and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building & Customer Experience:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key distribution partners and dealers
    • Conduct regular account meetings and business line reviews to foster collaboration and alignment.
    • Drive profitable growth while providing excellent customer experience.
    • Address customer needs and concerns promptly.
  • Data-Driven Presentations:
    • Create brand-specific, data-driven presentations to support business growth.
    • Utilize market insights and performance data to drive effective communication.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Understand customer strategic challenges and prioritize opportunities critical to the customer/account.
    • Align channel strategies with overall business goals. driving market share
    • Establish a strategic vision and perspective for channel development.
    • Demonstrate decision-making agility in a complex marketplace.
  • Revenue Management:
    • Manage revenue, trade budgets, show expenses and promotional activities.
    • Optimize pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Sales Performance Analysis:
    • Monitor sales performance metrics, including revenue, margins, and market share.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to optimize sales strategies and improve overall performance.
  • Forecasting:
    • Develop and manage financial and demand forecasts in collaboration with internal teams.
    • Use data analytics to make informed decisions.
  • Assortment Management:
    • Refine and develop assortments specific to these unique channel
    • Ensure pricing accuracy, and correct product assortment.
    • Optimize shelf presence through assortment and shelving initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Engage and leverage cross-functional resources (Marketing, Engineering, eCommerce, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.) to achieve business objectives.
    • Translate and integrate company strategies into customer-level business plans.
    • Partner with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns for Marine, Automotive, Plumbing and Sporting Goods.
    • Provide insights to guide product development and marketing strategies.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify new business opportunities within the Marine, Sporting Goods, Automotive and Plumbing sectors.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize market penetration.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Maintain, train, and manage a sales team dedicated to the Marine, Sporting Goods, Automotive and Plumbing channels.
    • Set clear sales objectives and provide ongoing coaching.
Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles within the Marine, Automotive, Plumbing and Sporting Goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales processes and distribution channels.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve targets.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
