Responsibilities
Ensure venue presentation systems are in a constant state of readiness
Maintain comprehensive systems knowledge to support normal operations, special events, and demonstrations
Monitor venue schedule and proactively coordinate with stakeholders
Activate and monitor live event sequences and transitions
Track live event content and adjust venue activities according to established runbooks
Coordinate with venue ops team to initiate program blocks, transitions
Essential Systems Maintenance
Log and track issues across all presentation systems
LED module removal and replacement
Monitor and maintain a variety of theatrical effects, including fog machines and DMX lighting
Demo and Special Event support
Coordinate with in-house and external teams to enable the best possible guest experience
Program lighting and sound cues
Develop custom presentations and events content
Load, test, and verify special event content
Support venue guest experiences, and work with venue team members to help setup and teardown, as needed
Experience
High proficiency working with Windows OS and Windows PC technology
General understanding of audio/visual signal flows and diagrams
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized
You can work independently and as part of a team, remaining calm under pressure
Background in Astronomy and/or related sciences is a plus
Theatrical or other live performance experience is a plus
Experience in Audio, Lighting, Broadcast, IT, and/or streaming IP video workflows is a plus
Must be able to lift up to 60lbs
Must be able to safely climb structures and work, briefly, in elevated positions
Must be able to work during live events, with high noise levels, and busy environments
This is a shift-based, on-site role, and will require evening/weekend/holiday work
On-the-job operational, maintenance, and safety training will be provided
