In an effort to reinforce and extend the market leadership of the COVERGIRL brand, we seek an “Assistant Global Brand Manager” to support the Eye category within the Global Brand Marketing team. Along with the Senior Global Brand Manager, the Assistant Global Brand Manager of COVERGIRL Eye will help implement global marketing strategies for new product development, management of existing portfolios and development of equity building assets.

“The Assistant Global Brand Manager, COVERGIRL Eye” will help lead end-to-end development of 360 product innovation, including product concepts, packaging development, formula development and launch support assets. This person should demonstrate a strong passion for the Makeup category and be an enthusiastic consumer of the segment.

“The Assistant Global Brand Manager, COVERGIRL Eye” will report into the Global Marketing Director of COVERGIRL Eye with a strong collaboration with the Senior Global Brand Manager of COVERGIRL Eye. Key stakeholders include R&D, Lifecycle, Creative, Finance and Local Marketing.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Become the Eye category expert through ongoing analysis of category dynamics, competitive performance and consumer trends. Maintain a holistic and detailed understanding of the category portfolio for COVERGIRL and competition. Conduct ongoing competitive reviews to help inform brand strategy and product innovation for 3-year plan.
  • Understand the consumer and translate this knowledge to create insightful strategy, communication and innovation.
  • Assist in managing all aspects of the innovation development process, from idea to launch for all Eye sub-segments: Mascara, Eyeliner, Eyeshadow and Brow. Includes insights development and market analysis, crafting the mix, business case modeling, communication and in-store point of sale assets and internal sell-in through each stage gate.
  • Assist in leading cross-functional team to overcome executional and logistical hurdles to meet in-market timing.
  • Analyze the sales potential of new products.
  • Track business performance of base business and all new COVERGIRL Eye launches.
  • Become a key Eye category interface with local brand and trade marketing teams.

Qualifications

We’d love to see candidates who have:

Essential:

  • 4 year Undergraduate Degree in Marketing or Related Field.
  • 2-5 years relevant work experience in marketing or brand management. Global brand management and product development a plus.
  • Analytical, quantitative acumen.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, lean, structured environment with proven record of completing projects on time in full through excellent cross-functional team management, leadership and influence.
  • Demonstrate bias for action with individual initiative, high energy and commitment level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for beauty and cosmetics. Creative, beauty sensibility and trend savvy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of key syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI) and experience developing business cases.
  • Experience in color cosmetics or personal care categories.
  • Experience working with R&D and leading creative projects end-end in partnership with cross functional teams.
