Huntsman is seeking an Americas Quality Manager supporting the Performance Products Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Global Quality Director.

As The Americas Quality Manager, You Will

  • Be responsible for creation and maintaining of an Awareness program within the Americas region with the target to increase understanding of Huntsman product’s applications and effects of quality defects at our sites.
  • Be accountable for Quality Culture program within Americas region and coordinating cross regionally for alignment.
  • Share Quality Learnings within and between regions.
  • Represent Quality Management for Americas region and site quality manager for The Woodlands, Texas.
  • Collaborate with key internal teams in the areas of R&D, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to drive and maintain a holistic view of quality throughout the organization.
  • Review key Customer Product Specifications, Quality Assurance Agreements, and Product Approvals in conjunction with the appropriate functions.
  • Work with the appropriate functions to assure customer quality agreements and specifications are properly recorded and required individuals are informed to assure compliance with agreements.
  • Be responsible for Americas region’s Customer Complaint Management and reporting.
  • Work with Site Quality Managers to aid investigations of complaints from premium/key customers to assure timely and proper root cause and corrective actions are created and information is properly communicated to the customer and within the region.
  • Evaluate customer quality satisfaction and propose continuous business improvement to the organization.
  • Aid development of a strong network of Quality leaders across the Americas region
  • Participate in Global Quality Projects

  • The holder of this position should be able to manage projects very well, influence across functions to drive change, and have strong investigative skills.
  • Position is to lead the design, scope, implementation, and maintenance in The Woodlands, TX for ISO 9001 certification.

Required Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in management/business administration
  • Quality Management Systems: certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 and/or AS/EN 9100

Experiences

  • Practical experience of managing business and Quality management processes in operational functions 10+ years.
  • Practical experience of managing customer/third party relationships in commercial, international environment incl. Cultural awareness 5+ years. (preferable)

Know-how/skills

  • Ability to manage projects is a must. Training in six sigma is strongly recommended (black belt or green belt)
  • Proven good influencing and leadership skills, especially in an environment where there is no direct line managerial responsibility – i.e. persuasive
  • Ability to interpret quality standards into normal business practices in manufacturing industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels up to executive level inside and outside the company (Fluency in English and at least one other language is an advantage)
  • Skills and practical experience in application of major quality tools such as FMEA, RCCA, DoE, SPC/SQC, APQP, PPAP, preferably in chemical industry.
