RSB and Associates, P.C is looking to add an Accountant to their team.
Job Summary:
Performs professional accounting work, training of new employees and clients on accounting systems, and resolving problems for assigned clients.
Essential Tasks:
Performs professional accounting for assigned clients. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Taking steps to obtain the necessary information from the client to complete the work
Preparing sales tax returns and corresponding deposits
Bank reconciliations
Preparing 1099’s for client’s sub-contractors
Posting general ledger and subsidiary accounts
Preparing financial statements
Prepare information for 3rd party audits
Tracking/recording billable time accurately
Prepares annual business and individual tax returns
Maintains client confidence by keeping information confidential and cautioning staff about breach of confidence
Maintains historical reference of client information by documenting information and maintaining files
Generates revenue by recommending new services to clients, obtaining leads for new clients through current services and participating in civic and business organizations
Complies with Federal, State, and Local financial legal requirements by adhering to standard accounting principles and keeping up to date on any changes in accounting/financial standards
Keeps manager, clients, staff and owner informed by analyzing and reporting status of clients, summarizing information, updating on issues, and informing of critical incidents
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars, reviewing professional publication; and establishing personal networks
Additional Tasks:
Contributes to team effort by maintaining a positive image and attitude and performing other assigned duties as needed. Maintains cooperative relationship with the staff and clients by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport and participating in problem solving methods.
Job Qualifications Essential knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR associate's degree + at least four years’ experience in public accounting
Two to three years’ experience in public accounting setting
Knowledge of professional principles and skills of accounting and finance; knowledge of regulatory requirements
Ability to receive operating instructions and follow procedures for computer-based software - knowledge of QuickBooks is essential
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office
Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of the work
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, owners, clients, and outside contacts
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to translate financial terms into understandable terms
Ability to handle multiple assignments; work with interruptions; meet deadlines, be flexible, and work hours necessary during peak workloads
Good problem-solving ability
Ability to set and follow ethical accounting practices
Ability to be detail oriented, organized, and complete tasks accurately by deadlines
Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants, staff, clients, and outside contacts
Ability to train staff and clients
Customer orientation: ability to be patient with clients, tactfully address issues, respond to requests timely, and have persuasive ability to cross sell services

Licenses, Certification or Registration:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR Associated degree + at least four years’ experience inpublic accounting (CPA or EA preferred)
