In one of the largest recoveries of its kind, we’ve recouped $1.5M+ from an HVAC company that deprived 430 technicians of their legal rights, protections and benefits by misclassifying them as independent contractors. The recovery follows an investigation by our Wage and Hour Division that found C&G HVAC LLC in Dallas owed the affected technicians $756,158 in unpaid overtime wages and an equal amount in liquidated damages. https://lnkd.in/dTTfK5Zt

We're making $99 million in funding available to support the delivery of pre-apprenticeships in high-demand industries including construction, clean energy, healthcare, infrastructure, IT and hospitality. YouthBuild Program grants provide academic support, occupational skills training and employment services to young people (16-24) in communities where they face persistent barriers to academic and career skills development. In alignment with the Biden-Harris administration’s Investing in America agenda, the program leverages the administration’s historic federal investments to help create good jobs and support a range of community needs, such as affordable housing and conservation. The YouthBuild Program will fund individual grants for approximately 75 projects, with each grant ranging from $700,000 to $1.5 million. Learn more - including how to apply: https://lnkd.in/eJrcdSsi
