💜 Earlier this month, Starling at San Jose hosted their first-ever Family Dinner and Bingo fundraising event benefiting Alzheimer's Awareness. Thank you to Chef Drew and the amazing culinary team for the delicious meal. Thank you to all of the third-party providers who donated prizes for Bingo. Thank you to Anna Waterman, from University of North Florida, for educating everyone on nutrition. And THANK YOU to all of the residents and family members who came to support the cause. It was a wonderful event. #EndALZ

🐍 A visit from The Southern Snake Lady was ssssso much fun! She taught Starling at San Jose residents how to identify snakes native to the southern United States. She also taught everyone a lot of fun facts about snakes. The group enjoyed getting to hold some of the snakes, too! Such a fun experience!

😎 FIESTA!! 🍹 Did you know July 19th is National Daiquiri Day? We had to celebrate with a party and music! Starling at Nocatee Independent Living residents loved the tropical decor and three different types of daiquiris! What a fun day!

🎄 🎁 Merry Christmas! We had so much fun hosting a Christmas in July market! Residents enjoyed some early holiday shopping + some festive decorations. It may be the middle of the summer, but we're always looking forward to Christmas! 

👏 BRAVO! 🎶 The Trelago Crooners put on a tremendous show! We have some very talented performers here at The Grove at Trelago! Our Activity Calendars (we have one for each lifestyle) are full of different things to do each and every day! Did you know that Starling operates a total of seven senior living communities throughout the state of Florida? So what exactly does our "footprint" throughout Florida allow us to do? "It allows us to provide services in all areas of the state. We have partnerships throughout the entire state that we can leverage," said Starling Chief Operating Officer Megan Kennedy. "We have some really great partnerships with our occupational and physical therapy groups. A lot of our partners work in all of our communities. It allows us to help and be a resource for more seniors." This is an exciting time to be part of the Starling family because we continue to invest in our communities and in our people. "I've been with Starling for seven years now and I have seen a ton of changes," Kennedy said. "We've grown significantly. We've focused on recruiting and retaining fantastic, well-trained teams in every community."

🐢 We had a great trip to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center in Jekyll Island! Starling at Nocatee Independent Living residents got to tour the facility and see all they do for these amazing animals. We also enjoyed lunch at Zachary's on the Water. It was a wonderful day! Our Activity Calendar is full of fun events like this one all the time!
