The current global IT outage is impacting organizations around the globe from critical infrastructure to travel, healthcare and beyond. Such incidents are concerning. 🗞️ In The Hacker News: "'AvNeutralizer (aka AuKill), a highly specialized tool developed by FIN7 to tamper with security solutions, has been marketed in the criminal underground and used by multiple ransomware groups,' cybersecurity company SentinelOne said in a report shared with The Hacker News." "SentinelLabs researcher Antonio Cocomazzi told The Hacker News that the advertisement of AvNeutralizer on underground forums shouldn't be treated as a new malware-as-a-service (MaaS) tactic adopted by FIN7 without additional evidence. 'FIN7 has a history of developing and using sophisticated tools for their own operations,' Cocomazzi said. 🎧 While the Russia-aligned influenced operation, Doppelgänger, apparently doesn't work on Sundays, it came out in "full force ... pushing content around democracy [being] under attack" on the Monday after the assassination attempt on former President Trump. “[Doppelgänger] shifted and evolved their narrative and their messaging over the last several months," says SentinelOne's Chris Krebs this week on the POLITICO Tech podcast. "They have primarily been focused on ... undermining support for Ukraine and Western Europe and elsewhere.
