In 1775, the Continental Congress established an Army Chaplain Corps with one chaplain per regiment. The Chaplain Corps, one of the smallest units in the U.S. Army has served in every American conflict.

About us
Purple Heart Homes is a 501(c)3 public charity that was founded in 2008 by John Gallina and Dale Beatty, two combat wounded veterans. After being injured in Iraq in 2004, they returned to their community and received a warm welcome and grateful appreciation for their service. They began to question why all veterans didn’t get the same levels of support and assistance from society. The answer isn’t easy, but Purple Heart Homes fills the gaps by providing housing for Service Connected Disabled Veterans that is substantial in function, design, and quality fit to welcome home the fighting men and women of America. From building a ramp for a veteran of World War II, to providing home ownership opportunities to younger Veterans, our programs are designed out of necessity and fit the specific needs of the aging veteran population.

After two years and 17 days of negotiations, the Korean War ended at 10 a.m. on July 27, 1953. Today, historians and even Veterans call the war in Korea "The Forgotten War," but a memorial on the National Mall remembers the conflict, those who fought in it, and the over 36,000 American troops who died. Let us make sure their sacrifices are never forgotten. . #helpingveterans #koreanwar #purplehearthomes

At 95 years old, Korean War Veteran Aaron Cash says he’d fight for his country all over again if he could. This survivor of a grenade attack, bayonet stabbing and frostbite conditions at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir has already given more than most to serve his country and is still willing to give more. It was our honor to give something back to Aaron and celebrate a “Mission Complete” with him at his Florida home of 30 years. By replacing his dilapidated roof and outdated electrical system, we ensured Aaron no longer worries about the next rainstorm or the cold of winter.
