💸 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙟𝙤𝙗 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙟𝙤𝙗❓ That's a question we still get asked far too often! 😐 The answer is always the same: 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼. 𝗡𝗮𝗱𝗮. It’s important to know that in most countries, it is illegal for agencies to charge candidates for participating in the recruitment process. Let’s repeat that: it’s not just “unwanted, unpopular or unwelcome”, it’s illegal 🚩 Check your local regulations. In this article, we explain how agencies get paid, so you know exactly who covers our fees (hint: it’s not you) ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dTtr8xTd #gamedevjobs #recruitmentagency #jobsearch

🤔 "How do you handle conflicts within your team?" 🤯 "Describe a situation when you had multiple deadlines falling at the same time. How did you get them all done?" 😬 "Tell me about the time where you had to make a difficult business decision." Have you ever been considered overqualified for a job and rejected from the recruitment process as a result? ✋🛑 A recent post by Patryk sparked a significant discussion, offering diverse arguments and perspectives. We’re sharing it here so more of you can read through the comments and possibly gather useful tips on how to counter the overqualification argument during your job search 📝 #overqualified #overqualification #gamedev #jobsearch
"Thanks for your application, but you're overqualified" What the hell does that even mean? It was hard to believe at first, but nowadays I am regularly speaking with people who have 15-20 years of industry experience and have a hard time landing their next job. I recently had a chat with a fantastic individual who received a couple of "Sorry mate, we would have no idea what to do with you and where to put your skills". So, what the hell does "overqualified" mean? 1) The manager is afraid you're going to get bored quickly. After all, you've done all those tasks a couple of years ago, so how you can find them enticing? 2) The manager is afraid you're going to leave as soon as a better offer will come across. They do have a budget to fill a Senior role, not a Director. 3) They would have to manage someone who is most likely more experienced than them. This is a challenge which requires a lot of self-esteem and believing in your ability. Anything else we should add to the list?

💚 Another member of our team at 8Bit, Benarda Hasa, has become an ambassador for Women in Games - joining Ljubica, Monika, and Marta 💚 As a company founded and led by women, we're proud to support this community. Our efforts focus on promoting fair work conditions for everyone, regardless of gender or other characteristics. Each of us may have different reasons for our commitment, but our goal is the same. Curious about Bena's motivation? Check out her latest post 😌 #womeningames #gamedev #diversity #inclusion #videogames
Has it been difficult for women to have equal work environments and opportunities? The hell it has been... it still is. But things are looking better. I hope that my daughter's generation will not have to take discussions like this because they will be obsolete. Until then, I will do everything I can so she can be anything she wants to be, in the #games industry or not, in #Albania or elsewhere. For now, I'm starting it by becoming a Women in Games Ambassador 😊 (as of last week). Here's to more girl game developers (especially in my country 😁)! 🎮
