I always advise my clients to go on coffee dates with as many people who are working in a field or company that interests them. Prepare some questions and ask for a short amount of their time. You never know what might come out of these conversations. Maybe they were thinking of creating a new job opening and you came at just the right time. Maybe they will create a job opening in the future and you will be the first person that they have in mind. Maybe this person knows the hiring manager or knows of a position opening up soon...
