Your team is facing organizational change and uncertainty. How do you keep their morale high?

Tried and tested which helped - be empathetic -encourage open dialogue - be an approachable leader - be transparent and openly explain what’s in it for them , how this can benefit them personally , professionally , how this can build a growth trajectory for them - meet and engage often - spend some time and have a Q and A session and answer it openly Most of all give them assurance that we are in this together and you are there for any support and guidance.

In my experience, to deal with uncertainties, we need to have an open communication, as many townhalls as can be possible. In the communication, not only talk about what is about to happen but what is the impact on them. How it will affect them and their work. How can they manage better in case of any issues. Who can they reach out to. Be as elaborative as possible. May be held some quizzes or contest to test whether they are ready or not. Meet and greet with the team working on the initiative and have a Q&A with them for employees to understand better.

What I have seen working is open communication and using all channels : townhalls, mailers, coffee connects etc. Townhalls are quite effective when Q&A sessions are encouraged and responses are given with transparency and straightforwardness. At times, there are internal debate among leaders whether to address rumours and grapevines or not. What I have experienced is that the more grapevines are addressed, the more we bring formal communication channels to the centre stage, and cut the side talks.

Communicate Communicate And Communicate Employees need to feel that they are all part of the change. Everyone is going to go through it together and make it successfully through the other side of the tunnel!

Anyway, we are living in a VUCA world, some companies have made this part of their culture to assist employees to always anticipate change and handle it better.

One important aspect to consider while considering Change is to understand the mindset of the team. If we can cater to the mindset of people, while trying to maintain a balance between As-Is & To-Be business environment, by familiarizing the team well in advance, can help.

While change is inevitable, emphasizing stable elements within the organization can provide comfort. Highlight the aspects of the team's work that will remain constant, such as the continuation of key projects, the preservation of team culture, and ongoing support from leadership. Reassure your team that their core values, roles, and commitments remain unchanged. By focusing on these constants, you can help mitigate anxiety and maintain a sense of normalcy and continuity, reinforcing the team's resilience and stability during transitional periods.

I agree team cohesion is important. Also to monitor carefully where each team member is in the change process is just as important, so that you deal with them with the right strategy.

I have found that during times of organizational restructuring and change it is imperative that all employees voices are heard. They need to know that their input is important and that they are contributors to the change - not just subordinates. There are a variety of ways to do this. Below are a few: 1. Focus Groups 2. One-to-one informal meetings with leadership to discuss feelings and ideas 3. Agile Methods The list goes on. Keep your people involved with the process during every Phase of change.

I strongly believe that "Team cohesion" need to be built at all times, and not to be considered as a factor during any change implementation. Bonding beyond Boundaries, and enabling a team that supports each other helps to build cumulative strength and unity. This is really helpful in tackling change.

Change in the top leadership or the strategic alignments give insecurity in minds of employees while this should be reflected as opportunity to embrace new experiences. An organisation must focus on 'employee value proposition' during such transition in terms of new learning opportunities, career progression and reward and recognition. Show them the growth path along with financial incentivisation to embrace the change.

El reconocimiento es necesario para que el equipo se mantenga animado y comprometido y no necesariamente tiene que ser económico, el salario emocional contribuye y mucho. Répondre à "pourquoi" nous allons dans cette voie, c'est la base : ce qui est à l'origine, ce qui a stimulé ce cap, d'une part : ce que l'on a décidé d'éviter et ce qui nous contraint à ... D'autre part, il y a le "pour quoi" c'est-à-dire pour aller vers quoi. Il y a aussi d'autres aspects à considérer, qui sont le comment (les étapes, les rôles), et les résultats - les conséquences de ce cheminement (pour le collectif, pour les individus, pour l'organisation). J'ajoute que le tableau de la vision nécessite les options et les aléas du chemin. Dans la vision, nous avons besoin d'intégrer le schéma global de notre environnement, ce qu'il y a autour de nous. La vision sera le refrain de la chanson durant la conduite du changement.

La vision d'avenir n'est pas si facile à établir lorsque les conséquences des décisions et les évènements ont laissé une grande empreinte sur les émotions du personnel et les ressources de l'entreprises. En période de transformation, comment se projeter vers autre chose. Lorsque j'accompagne les personnes et les dirigeants à créer de nouvelles pages de leurs chapitres, je pose un certain temps d'appréciation et d'auto-compassion, d'auto-célébration pour la dynamique collective, sur les compétences qui en résultent, surtout ce que les personnes et l'organisation sont devenues (résilientes, soucieuses de la santé, attentives aux contextes, par exemple). C'est lorsque l'état des choses est posé que l'on cherche à voir au-delà !

1 - Request your team members to form buddies and have a daily check in. The minute they feel their morale going south or negativity building they connect or meet in groups. 2 - It’s important to be realistic and not blinded by optimism or unreal expectations. The change cannot go away or be very great for you to embrace it or very bad. Set expectations clearly and ensure there is a reality check (where change is not bad) 3 - ensure there is transperancy, not only top down but also bottom up.

Off course it is a difficult phase of the organizational change but by taking employees confidence which comes with trust, consistent communication, care, effective feedback mechanism and leaders coming on the ground and understand concerns will make this journey smooth.
