What do you do if your boss disagrees with your design choices in Environmental Design?

When a boss or client disagrees with my design, the first thing I want to know is why and what his areas of concerns are so that I can understand his point of view. Then I will try to make him understand why I made the particular design which apart from aesthetics is to achieve the purpose of the space based on the client details that I received and worked with ( e.g purpose of the space, environmental factors being combatted, sustainable interior design, budget, client preferences, and so on). From here we can find a balance to improve on the design as the case may be .
