Treating others kindly is the easiest thing todo. When it comes to being in a work place, People have to remember that you will see co-workers daily for hours deepening on what you do. You need to build bonds, and friendships BUT the only way you can do that is by earring trust. By encouraging open dialogue it creates a safe environment for better discussions. Ask questions, LISTEN and allow your self to receive feed back from others. By remembering there is no "I" in team it will help you tear down the walls some may put and allow growth within your team.

I agree maintaining a relationship is always a two way channel where as a subordinate one should always need to show mutual respect for the senior and same goes with seniors as well. Another point is there should a trust conducive environment where senior should take account in subordinate with the decision which is related to subordinate.
