Rockstar Teases Release Date for Highly Anticipated GTA Online Summer Update

Rockstar's subtle hints and clues have GTA fans speculating about the summer update's release date, which might be closer than we think.

Rockstar Games is keeping Grand Theft Auto fans on the edge of their seats with the highly anticipated summer update for GTA Online. While no official release date has been announced yet, the developers have left a trail of breadcrumbs that eagle-eyed players have been quick to follow.

First, let’s address the most important question: when can we expect this massive update to drop? Initially reported by RockstarINTEL, Rockstar’s blog post hinted at a release “next month,” but a swift update changed it to “later this month.” Combined with the fact that the upcoming Överflöd Pipistrello supercar will be available to GTA+ members on the update’s release day, we can narrow down the possibilities.

Here’s where things get interesting: the current GTA+ month, which typically lasts four weeks, is surprisingly shorter, spanning from June 6 to June 24. Coincidence? I think not! GTA Online updates traditionally launch on Tuesdays, and the Tuesday following June 24 is, drumroll please, June 25.

It seems Rockstar has left us a not-so-subtle clue, and unless they’re playing an elaborate game of misdirection, the major summer vigilante update is likely to grace our consoles on June 25 – just over two weeks away.

Last year's GTA Online summer update was released on June 13.

To spice things up, Rockstar inadvertently disclosed a potential location for the upcoming content. A sharp-eyed fan spotted that the German version of Rockstar’s Newswire post mentions the new bail enforcement and bounty hunting business will be stationed in Grapeseed, a small town located in Blaine County, close to Sandy Shores.

As the countdown continues, Rockstar has promised to share more information through Newswire posts in the coming days. Fans can expect a glimpse into the new features, vehicles, and adventures that await in the world of GTA Online.

Before then, GTA+ members can score big with LS Car Meet’s Double Rewards Week. The premier hangout for the city’s petrolheads is doubling down on rewards for all Street, Pursuit, Drift, and Drag Races.

Oh? That is only two weeks away. I assumed it was not going to happen until after the 4th of July... But I am all for this. But if it is coming out that day, that means GTA+ members will get access either that week or next week. If they do get access on the 25th, everyone else will get it on the 2nd.

Ohh so this update is happening soon then? I had no idea. I mean I know people were talking about some summer update but considering summer starts at the end of the month I did not think it would happen until July or August.

It cannot get here soon enough! I feel like the last few months have been dragging. Nothing major added to the game. I am playing way less cause I am just bored with it at this point. I think recently I went like a month without playing which I had not done since prior to 2019.
