As others have said, this started out with a weird, quirky and absolutely charming bang and then gets lost in the philosophical and geopolitical weeds. Some of the voices of marginalized characters are also a bit disconcerting. I'm not sure why, and if that's a testament to Dickinson's craft or something else. Anyway, I DNF'd at 35%. It may work for someone looking for a little more of a hard sci-fi read with a lot of strong opinions about the state of the world, but, alas, it didn't work for me.
