I have read all 9 Meredith and Hodge books back to back and thoroughly enjoyed them. The detective part of the stories are well done and keep you guessing for the most part but I loved the personal side of the stories and the interaction between the characters, it gave you a feeling of knowing them. They were also witty bits and normal everyday emotions thrown in giving you a real sense of the characters. Not so keen on book 5, which included spies. Overall fantastic.
A thousand stars could just maybe cover these books.
But only maybe, I was captivated from the first page, and only stopped when I read the last word. I've enjoyed many series of books since finding Kindle. But this series is above and beyond the best I have read. Brilliantly written. Laugh out loud.. Gasp and shout No. Or Yes.... All the emotions you can think of, these books have reached parts that other books haven't reached. A bit like a beer advert, if you know what I mean. An absolute joy, but now I have to find the next series to read😃😀
Just finished reading this remarkable series of nine book and so hoped there would be a number ten! I can’t remember when I’ve enjoyed a series so much! The extended “family” of characters is extraordinary and storyline are fascinating … Thank You! Thrilled to see there is a #10!
Read all 9 books so far of the series Meredith & Hodge, and it is quite the Goodyear. Lots of interaction between the characters and quite funny at times. Well written as you can feel as if you are actually there with them and you can't guess the ending right away. Love it, have now started the 10th book in this series. Keep it up!
I lived the first book and was so pleased I got the whole first 9 free on Amazon Prime. Love Meredith and Patsy and their relationship and goodness knows why she stuck with him. All the stories are believably, not gory murders and lived all the characters too. I van really recommend the series.
For those of us who love a good plot, well written this box set is a must read! Although there is a few overlaps to lead into the next story they work well as stand alone books. I hope the series grows.
I managed to read all 9 because the relationship between the two main characters interested me. I found neither of them warm and fuzzy but was interested in where the author would take them. Still undecided.
I binge read this collection of 9 books over the New Year break. I put pretty much everything else on hold and slept in late. I love the characters and thoroughly enjoyed the plots. I highly recommend this series.
I really enjoyed this series until ‘quite by chance’. What an awful book. So tedious that I only got halfway through before I had to skip onto the next one. Absolute rubbish but all the others are great.
The characters are marvelous and wonderfully developed throughout the series. Each book has a tense and complicated plot with intriguing twists you won’t see coming. Witty and realistic dialogue made all nine of these books a very enjoyable read.
Completely different to my usual choice of books, I am so glad I took a chance and read them. I thought the storylines were gripping, the budding relationships between the characters made me care about them, and there was humour too. I am just starting book 10 in the series, I hope there are many more.
What a story teller M K Turner is! I enjoyed reading this series & can't wait to read the rest. I loved the way she concluded the story at the end of the book filling in all the answers to any questions left unanswered. The humour had me laughing out loud & the characters are fantastic. I loved every single one of them. I couldn't put the book down. Even at work I couldn't wait to get home & get back to it.
Most kept you guessing. I wasn't crazy about the language at times. Actually loved the characters especially Linda and Trump. Meredith at times was crude and very rude. But great reading over all.
This series of books have kept me entertained for a month! Fabulous characters, especially Peggy, loved her. Read 10 & 11 aswell...can't wait for book 12.😍😍😍
Great cast of characters. Liked the humor and all the different personalities involved. A little more graphic in some parts than I prefer but still enjoyed the series.
Good, strong multilevel plotting, but the author over uses the same first and/or last names for different characters in different stories (Toni, Tony Antony, Barry as villain in one, another Barry in next story, multiple Johns and Jacks, and so on) AND NAMES far too many with the same first letter, pulling the reader OUT of the story with distraction (Freddie/Frankie, Patsy/Peggy, Megan/Marie, etc etc... Seriously needs attention to remove redundant and recurring naming.
I read the first book, then deleted the rest. The story is too long winded, and rather sordid,I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that wants a good detective novel,I felt like the detective who was supposed to be in charge, came across as a dirty old man,and the murder was just a afterthought. I really wouldn't recommend it.
