The Fallen Crest High Series is like junk food. You know you shouldn't have it because it's bad for you, but this ends up happening anyways.
description

I'm a lot happier with how Fallen Crest Public turned out compared to the last book. Sam has some of her spunk back though her emotional side is still there. I'm happy she has both (heck, I'd prefer it if she has both), but still a tiny bit unsatisfied with how she is. If I could accurately describe it, I'd say she's roughly 40% IDGAF Sam from Book 1, 50% emotional Sam from Book 2, and 10% New Sam with a big moral compass. She can get a tiny bit annoying sometimes in the book, but she's mostly bearable if not likable in some parts. I think it's safe to say you'll definitely love her when IDGAF Sam comes out.

As for Mason and Logan...
description
They're sexy as always. Logan's still the hot, caring jokester and Mason is still the sexy, caring badass.

As for the romance between Mason and Sam, I'll explain it in strictly gif form how hot, sexy, and sweet it is.

And the drama. The book is a delicious dessert on the outside with a whole lotta OMG on the inside.
description
The story isn't as crazy as the previous book, but that doesn't mean there's not a lot of shit going on. This one pretty much centers on high school drama with a dash of romantic drama and a sprinkle of violent drama. Just be prepared because some of the stuff going on is like a car accident you can't look away from.

And the ending. I'm not exactly a fan of the ending because it seemed like it was going for a shocker dramatic ending but it didn't for me. I won't say who for spoilers but was I the only one who wasn't surprised that he loves her? Maybe it's from reading so many romantic novels that I'm used to sniffing out this type of stuff, but I thought it was pretty obvious he had feelings for her (especially since it's pointed out a few times despite being joked about). And because I wasn't really surprised, the ending pretty much fell flat for me as it was anti-climactic.

However, I enjoyed the book overall. Still hoping to see more badass Sam and see a better execution of her dealing with her family . If you're debating whether or not to read the 3rd book, I say do it. It might not be as good as the first one, but it's definitely better than the second. You'll be disappointed in a few parts of the storyline, but I think, for the most part, you'll be satisfied. That being said, I'm curious to see what happens in the next book.

Note: Not really a review, just some random ramblings of mine. Plus no idea what Sam looks like so she'll just be a blank for now.

So in Fallen Crest High, things were just heating up and in Fallen Crest Family, the craziness stemmed from the inside. In this third book Fallen Crest Public, every dirty secret is aired out in, well, the public. There are so many problems the Kade brothers and Sam must face as a result of the events in book 2.

1. Kate’s knocked off her pedestal and how to deal with ex-drama queen bee is a major problem.

“New definition to the phrase ‘dumb bitch.’”

2. The Broudou brothers are out to get Mason and anything and everything he holds dear.

“You fuck with who I love, and I fuck with you.”

3. Don’t forget the messed up, headache-inducing, bang-my-head-on-the-wall family dynamics from book 2! Although they play a lesser role and aren’t the main focus of this book, the crazy gorillas parents are an influence.

“Helen was a saner version of Analise.”

4. Tate…‘nuff said.

5. Rocky relationship between Sam and Mason….and Logan. Rocky all around.

“You’re our weakness, Sam. We have to finish this before they do something to you.”

So even with all those problems and then some, this book has shot to my number 1 favorite out of the series. Why? It’s simple, really. Just one word.

I never saw ANY of this coming. My reaction the entire time was basically:

Me: That’s not going to happen.

Book Me: Why not?

Me: I mean, it’s way out there. There’s just no way Tijan would put in that much drama.

*insert drama*

Book Me: Ha! Tijan totally TIJANED you!

Me: ...............

Book Me: Hey, you okay?

Me: Yeah, totally fine. Just...having a moment and absorbing it all in.

So yeah, a third installment filled with wicked turns and twists and plot punches you’ll never see coming? That’s what this book is all about.

It's official......I'm too old for this high school drama!

Seriously this book gave me a headache.

I couldn't remember who anyone was (other than Mason and Logan of course) and frankly I didn't care.

Sam was

And that sex scene in the first chapter....talk about a tease. All of the rest....FADE TO BLACK! Total

I didn't really like the last book so I'm not even sure why I bothered with this one.

I liked Fallen Crest Public much more than the last book in this series. I’m guessing it’s because some of the parental drama had decreased and we were back focused on Sam, Mason, and Logan. This did have a lot of mean girl drama, Sam adjusting to a new school, and a new intriguing character that used to be an enemy. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.

"Turning my head to the side, his lips were there and they opened for me. I needed him. Sweeping my tongue against his lips, I tasted what was mine. He was mine. All of him was mine."

See when I see that word "mine" I think it means "mine" personally not "hers" because the way I look at if I'm reading the word then it means it's "mine!" Thank goodness you understand every thing I just said because the "it" is Mason and I'm so happy he's MINE!!!

My Loves

Well obviously Mason and Logan Kade...*sigh*. They are just to lickable to even describe properly!! My parents are still married but WOW I could have used some step brothers like these two!!!!!

This author always leaves wanting more even though I had some slight issues with this one.

I'm so greatful that I didn't have to endure the crazy batshit behavior from Analise in this book.........woman you need HELP you PSYCHO!!

These books are fast paced and quick, they aren't easy to just find a stopping point and end it for the night. This definitely delivered on that point. I devoured this book in a day and half:)

Samantha "Sam" I love you because they love you so much. Also I was proud when you stood up for yourself to Kate.....slamming some ones face in a table is always therapeutic when your mad!!! PERFECT!

My likes

I enjoyed the new secondary characters we were introduced to especially Malinda Decraw.....she was AWESOME!!!!! I love her!!!!

The fragile relationship that is trying to be patched by Sam and her Dad, David, I've always liked him through out this series. I felt he had handed the short straw in the divorce.

I like the fact that Heather is sticking around she's shaping up to be a decent friend.

My *head tilting sideways* with a frowny face...yes it's the dislikes

This hurts my heart to say this because I love this author but this book just didn't flow good to me:(

There were multiple times the dialogue between characters didn't even make sense....I would have to reread the interaction because it made no sense or the response that was made was not even revlavent to what was asked or said:(

I don't know it just seemed rushed....I don't mean the book or the storyline just the book as a whole.

Oh and the diabolical plan.....just a WEE bit over the top but that's just my opinion.

Now I'm taking a *deep breath* in and out because this is one of my favorite series and I hate being critical about it.

Now with all that being said don't get me wrong I will still devour the next book in this series because DAMN......we were left with a HUGE cliff!!!!!

HUGE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!

Overall if you love this series you will love this book because quite frankly how could you not love anything Mason and Logan Kade are in:)

It's not fair that I'm angry right now. I thought I was finally hitting a stride with the Fallen Crest series. I thought I was learning to enjoy the ride enough to cave and ignore the repetitive writing plus editing flaws because the drama was exciting and addictive. I actually kind of liked book 2 (which I still haven't reviewed yet because I had to jump ahead and unload my pent-up frustration over book 3).

Why couldn't the sketchy behavior have been limited to the "enemies" of Mason, Logan, and Samantha? Why did I have to start liking the male leads, only to have it all snatched away when their bad behavior became inexcusable (again)?

It's NOT okay that Logan and Mason

Doesn't anyone else get this? These two guys shouldn't be viable romance leads now. Especially while starring in a high school series with a younger target age range. This is the worst possible shit that anyone would want their daughter reading and aspiring to date. Extreme questionable behavior should be reserved for adult anti-heroes...or at the very least, younger male leads who aren't considered swoon-worthy. Broken people who need help - fine. Guys who are fawned over by every available female - not fine.

Saving Samantha is NOT a good enough excuse. ANY decent human being would not throw another person to the wolves like that. If they'd set Kate up to have a go-round with another chick, whatever. She would've gotten what was coming to her for the stunt she pulled in the bathroom. But what happened goes beyond basic revenge payback.

Again, there were enough side characters in the book who could have been as evil as they wanted to be. I just don't want to see young male leads being swooned over when they are prone to downright disgusting behavior.

Remember : Kate was set up to be And Logan and Mason were going to ignore it happening.

THIS IS NOT OKAY. AND IT'S NOT EXCUSABLE FOR THE SAKE OF ENTERTAINMENT VALUE.

Logan and Mason : Use your brains, kids. Find another way to save the girl you love.

(And it sure was awfully convenient that Sam just happened to be the only person in town jogging by at that exact moment when everything started to go down with Kate.

And it was even more disgusting that the convenience store guy did jack shit about what was happening.)

And I know I mentioned the repetitive stuff, but I'm really tired of everyone pressing kisses to Sam's forehead, temple, and shoulder. There was one instance where it happened 3 times within the span of a page and a half. And...for a girl who can run, she sure gets carried around a lot. Must be that all-consuming addiction thing.

Gah. I really was enjoying this book too, up until M&L went back onto my shit list.

I love Tijan’s books and I loved Fallen Crest High series, however, and yes I have to put that “tiny” however there and major sigh to the fact, Fallen Crest Public is NOT the last book in the series. I would describe book 1, Fallen Crest High as the pilot of the series and with each book that is release, is kind of a like an episode as in, each book has a major obstacle that needs to be overcome. In book 2, Fallen Crest family, the main obstacle was Sam’s crazy mom and in book 3, Fallen Crest Public, the main obstacle is Kate.

Mason, Logan and Sam all live with Nate. It’s the last semester of high school before Mason goes to college. Also, Sam is going to school with Mason and Logan now. Not everyone in school, especially the girls and especially Kate is okay with Sam.

First off, I loved the main theme, “damsel in distress”, yup, I love it, I eat it up and I don’t care how much you want a “strong” Heroine. Sam is still strong, but sometimes a strong Heroine needs to be saved by a crazy over protective Hero. The star of the book would be Mason. If you could create an alpha high schooler with sexy looks and charming personality, my money would be on Mason.

I have a major book boyfriend crush on Mason Kade. Don’t worry there’s plenty of Logan action for all those who are team Logan. One of the main things I love about the series is the adorable relationship Mason, Logan and Sam have with each other. I think its super cute, it makes me smile and it’s something I eat up.

Kate is a crazy bia and strikes a lot of terror and there are many difficulties because of her. I like this, it creates nice tension, but none of the pull-you-hair-out kind. There has to be a major villain in every book and Tijan created one I loved to hate.

Now, let’s get to the things that did not work out for me.

I fairly enjoyed FCP because I’m a HUGE fan of Tijan’s writing, but I am disappointed to say this one missed the mark just a bit for me. The writing was a bit drawn out, in the sense, I did skim a few pages here and there. Also, THERE ARE SO MANY FUCKING CHARACTERS. I felt like I need to create a spread sheet of who dated who, who was related to whom and who were friends and who were enemies.

The biggest draw back of the book for me was the ending. For a few reasons, first I thought the series was ending, but it didn’t. I thought the ending mirrored a lot like another book I have previous read, so it didn’t seem very original. I did not like the direction of the ending because it goes against the dynamic of the book (again for me). With that said, I will not be continuing the series. As much as I love the Kade brothers, I just don’t want to see where the story is going to go.

I think Tijan broke my heart, but I still am a major fan.

I just have to say, my “issues” aren’t really issues. In all sense, I think if you are a fan of the series, you will enjoy it and will more than likely be very content. I’m just the odd duck on this one.

Pre-book review:

Eagerly waiting for the book! BUT please, Bring back the old Samantha. The one who was all bold and smart. not the one full with emotions...I'm happy she has emotions, but still... the old one was better. And what's with Nate? I don't like him and I do NOT trust him! :/

*******************************
Post-book Review: 31st Dec.

First of all I'd like to thank Tijan for making my 31st December so freaking awesome! You and your books are totally awesome and I love you a lot!

Reading Fallen Crest Public was like riding on a roller coaster--up down left right. Not a single page left me unsatisfied. It was very much thrilling.

Mason
His POV was really a great insight to his mind. I got to know a lot of things about him which I couldn't in the first two books. He really is protective of Sam and would do 'anything' (deep emphasis on anything) for her, which he did by ruining Kate. He is too much observant and really caring. But Man! The way he had planned out on outcasting Kate was just... *I'm speechless* He is an evil mastermind! I'm sorry Sam but I guess I am in love with him too. :P

Logan
Same as ever. He loved and protected Sam too. I was nervous when I read the part where Sam was literally throwing herself on him. But good old brother did nothing. I understand why he hates Nate because he wasn't that close to his brother as Nate was.

Samantha.
Girl got her 'bitchiness' back in the third book. Yeah, she was an emotional mess but c'mon the girl did stand for herself and every human has to show emotions once in a while. I hated that psychopath Kate and her followers. How in the hell could she beat up Sam like that?! I did cry a bit when she felt hurt watching Kate and Mason together. I liked her loyalty towards Heather. But one good thing about her: She is not bad. She did help Kate, the same girl who knocked her out, with a big BOOM.

Nate.
Lol he did seem shady and now I know the reason why. He seems like a good guy but I still don't understand that bond between him and Mase.

The plot was awesome. Tijan captured each emotions and all the situations in detail which made me connect to everyone.
The story ended with a BANG! and a very unsettling confession.
Now that the ending was incomplete I guess there's gonna be more adventures of The Fallen Crest people.

Can't wait for the fourth book! :(
This series I recommend to all. If you haven't read it, then do! You'll love it!

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*It was kinda a bust; I was bored*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱
This review is purely for me and might contain spoilers and facts from the book to keep myself in the known at all time. It's also long and somewhat detailed.

Second re-read: 25.05.2018
We're back with Samantha ‘Sam’ Jacquelyn Strattan (18) and her boyfriend/future-stepbrother, Mason ‘Mase’ James Kade (18). Sam is now starting Fallen Crest Public High along side the Kade brothers, but now everyones is happy about that. Sam gets targeted by the The Tommy P's/Princesses who are determined to remove her. Then there's also the threat of the Broudou brothers; words out that Mason has a girlfriend and Budd's out to hurt her. First they gotta find out who she is. Overall, it's not as bad as second book, however it's still far from a great read. Sure, I still enjoyed it to a degree, but there's something huge that's missing from this book (and previous book), and that something is nagging at me. I do believe that it's the missing depth. I'm kinda looking forward to be completely done with this series. I do still love Mason though; I sure do want him for myself...
Principal Green surveyed the crowd in the hallway, shaking his head at the same time. “How is it that you two command so much attention in this school? I’ve never met another person, much less a pair of brothers that can compete with the level of power you hold over my student population.”
Logan shrugged. “We’re cool, an inspiration to others.”
A smattering of laughter started again.
Principal Green drawled, “I highly doubt that.”
“It’s true. We’re like a walking Hallmark card, full of quotes and bible verses. We make people feel like they’ve been touched by an angel.”
“Oh, shit,” someone laughed.
Another commented, “He makes people feel touched all right.”
A third snorted, “And not from anything angelic.”

Other characters:
I've put these in a spoilers tag simply because it's a long as list.
“Next time you’re pissed at me, can you do me a favor?”
“Yeah?”
“Don’t go to Logan.” His eyes moved to mine and held them captive. My mouth dropped open as he stole my breath away. That hand went back into my chest and squeezed, but it was a different pain this time. It was from the pain I caused him.
I nodded. “I’m sorry.”
“He’s my brother. You’re my other half. I can’t …”
When he struggled for words, I reached for his hand. I started to go to him, but my ribs protested, so I gripped his hand as tight as I could. “I won’t ever do that again. I promise.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Young Adult) Contemorary Romance.
Series: - Series, Book Three.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Mason Kade.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Sure.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Sure.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably not.
New Rating - 2.5 stars.

Meh, not bad, but far from a great re-read. Still 3 stars.

First read: 22.05.14
I do love Mason. Other than that, the book is a bit boring.

I am so over this.

Nothing has changed. We get the same conversations and situations over and over. There is no difference between the two first books of the series and this one. We are reading the same book repeatedly.
I can't stand any longer all the bitchiness, meanness, randomness and plane badness of all the characters. The reflections and dialogues of the characters are illogical, they make no sense whatsoever and piss me off. The characters are an example of bad decision making and of the bad sides of humans.
It is shameful how the teenage girls are portrait here over and over again. The boys are entitled cowards, all bark and no bite. It is disgusting to see. I am so fed up with al this I can't continue any longer reading this series, it is depressing. No more.

WRONG!

P.S.: I do not recommend this series.

4 frustrating stars!

Seriously someone needs to help ALL these kids! Clearly their parents didn't not do a good job at it!

Mason Logan Mason Logan....
I love both these boys and I find it hard to understand why they all like Sam so much...

But they do and they will do anything to protect her. And I mean anything...
Mason and Sam still banging like rabbits all the time!

Sam starts public school... And everyone hates her.

This book will make you crazy! These kids (boys and girls) are insane!

On every single level. Girl fights... Wars for popularity- another mean girls scene!

So... I did not hate the book, I was quite hooked to it since I'm insanely crazy and have a thing for DRAMA!

This isn't the end.... To be continued in part 4...

Karla and I plan to one day write a combined review for all three books in this series. To say we are ADDICTED is an understatement!

-------
GUILTY PLEASURE READ AND NOTHING MORE!!!

This authors is my ADDICTION. My CRACK! My ESCAPE! My EXCEPTION. I can't get enough of her books.

Her stories–all of them–will ALWAYS be 5 star reads for me because I don't read them like I do other books. They have become my escape, my guilty pleasure, my one exception. They encompass EVERYTHING that would normally drives me bat-shit-crazy, yet they don't. For whatever reason, they are in a class of their own and they work for me BIG TIME. I just hang on and enjoy the crazy ride.

FUCK....

Why did that happen??? Why???

Yeah, yeah!!! I already knew it but now it gets more obvious than before!!!

Okay... I think that already told you many times before but i love Mason. I really do!!!

So please do not hurt him!!! I will become a real bitch then... I'm just warning you, guys!!!

Yeah, you two!!! You know in whom i reffer....

Well, that book amazingly surprised me!!! Is that possible???

After three and a half book can be possible to be even better???
Oh, yeah!!! It was. It was fucking amazing!!!

God, i can't believe it but i'm obsessed with Fallen Crest series...

After all that they 've been through in the second book, Sam tranferred from her old school to the new, which is... Surprise, surprise!!!!... The same that go Mason and Logan...
And new problems began...
This time the problems was having a female name: Kate. She was the usually Mason's hook-up girl before Sam got in his life. She and her gang was started to bulling Sam without mercy...

They did bad things and they planned even worst...

I haven't hate another people so much in my life!!!

Even her psycho bitch mother seemed like a sheep in front of them...

Sam, tried to keep that bully shit away from Mason and Logan and to fight it herself but the results was not at her favor!!!

And when the Kade brothers learn about it, they became cruel and ruthless...
and the things got complex even Mason and Sam kept loving each other...
they let many secrets to get between them!!!

Oh! I forgot to tell you that there was DUAL POV (Mason & Sam)... That was absolutely... perfect!

Thank God, everything found the right place at the end...

...except that something fucked up everything at the end and now i'm sitting here alone and i'm wondering who will be hurting in the end!!!

Please, please, Tijan!!! Protect my lovely Mason!!!

Tijan, if only if only I could see what goes on in that brain of yours!!

And as for the ending, well, it only confirmed a fact I've suspected from the very beginning so it wasn't that big a surprise BUT STILL. It only suspended my need to want even MORE!!!

In this third book in the series, Sam finds herself, yet again, pitted against the "mean girls" at her new school. When Mason ruins these girls social standing by "exiling" them, their tactics only become more cruel. With the ringleader focusing all her anger on Sam, tensions build steadily until they finally attack. These girls are vicious, brutal and all-around scary!

Mason and Logan continue to be overly protective of Sam, but this book sees their good intentions cause some damage. More and more, Sam is left in the dark as their plotting takes on a secretive nature. When everything finally comes to light, I think she let the guys off easy, especially Mason.

After everything, Sam continues to be compassionate and merciful. She even goes out of her way to save a girl that had tormented her for weeks. I was blown away by her kindness and humanity after everything she had been put through. She had a chance for revenge, but she took the high ground, despite knowing that the other girl would have walked away and left her to suffer if the tables had been turned.

Three books in and this series still has my attention! I'm loving all of this high school drama that would normally drive me crazy. It's a bit far-fetched, but highly entertaining! On to the next one...

This book was fucking awesome.
The End was...like BOOM.
Like a bomb. Yeah, like a bomb.

Definitely the best book out of all Tijan's books. Worth the wait for sure.
I'm so excited for the next one. I don't know how it's gonna top this one, but I know it will.

So I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first two. Where where FCH and FCF we’re full of drama, I loved that they were a team and stood up to everyone and everything together. This book was full of angst including relationship angst. I still love both Mason and Sam and of course Logan too. There were a couple parts that were tough to read though. I’m really looking forward to the next book because I think we get back to the feeling of the beginning of the series.

Honestly, at this point, I'm hoping for some more Nate. There's just too many questions I have about the dynamic between the Kades and him.

UPDATE 12/31/13
HOLY CRAP. HOLY CRAP. Oh my frikken goodness what the everloving jesus holy smokes I just cannot right now. I mean, that little loop we were thrown at the end, I mean, I knew it, I saw it coming, wasnt that surprising. What is surprising is that Tate is a bitch. My laptop is at like 15% while I write this but holy smokes. I just cant handle it. AND NATE YOU SHADY BASTARD, what the crap.
I have so much feels. I dont know where to start, if I can even find a place to make sense of everything. Sam, I felt should've just been like, "Fuck this, fuck you, fuck everything." She was too... too something. I dunno the word but whatever it was, thats what she was. And Mason, you little bastard. You are so damn lucky I love you to pieces. Logan, well babe, I still love you just as much, if not more. You're still golden sweetpea.

Tijan is officially my 'go to' author. Reading her books is like curling up with my favorite blanket and settling in for the night. Except there is no sleeping because I'm trapped between the pages and it's a great trapped. It's opening up a book (turning on your kindle) and your body sags and you sink into the words on the page with a sigh. That is my Tijan experience so far and I love her for giving me that.

Book three starts right where book two left off. This book focused more on Sam starting at public High School and the challenges she faces with being the most hated person there. Girls are jealous of her connection to the Kade's and they take every opportunity to make sure she knows that she isn't welcome. Going much further than I hope is reality.

Because of this, I was frustrated through some of this book. The Sam we saw in book one never took crap and stood up for herself. Book two had her cowering to her mother and dealing with her brand of crazy. In this book, Sam was so determined to not get Mason and Logan involved with the bullying that she looked like she was cowering to the Tommy P's. I wanted the feisty Sam back.

We do get a resolution to the Tommy P's by the end of the book. Sam was strong but in a different way and I'll admit I wasn't completely satisfied with how the whole situation was dealt with. Still, this has been an very addicting series and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

Sam is so much better in this book but for me this series is all about Mason!
