this book was fun like the first one, although i tend to disapprove of sequels to books like these. i just bet that if you put your mind to it, you can come up with something else funny that you can extend into a short humorous book perfect for gift-giving. don't just trade in on the same joke again. impress me with your diversity! now!
having said that, there are still some cute drawings in here, and some good variations on the theme.
i like the manic expression on that worm, for example.
but no one bought me this as a gift, so i don't get to write a blissfully happy "thank you" and call it a book review this time, like i could with the first one.
Not quite as witty as the first one, but still pretty funny! I think they tried a little too hard to make it the same, but not enough of a complaint to make me say it isn't good.
En serio, me encanta la diferencia que puede hacer un personaje, por más pequeño e "insignificante" que aparente ser.
"I was not programmed to understand the concept of friendship. And yet there is an emptiness inside me that I cannot explain. Let me try... Never-ending solitude."
"I think I smash buildings because my father was distant."
Not just a cheap sequel trying to cash in on the success of All My Friends Are Dead, don't believe the haters! Your kids will read this book over and over again! Worth it for the necrophilia jokes alone!
Like when your nephew says something that genuinely makes you laugh and, emboldened by your response, he repeats it, thinking it will be funnier the second time. It's never funny to repeat a joke.
This guy did it again. A hilarious book that I wished it was longer (is that remotely correct?). Loved it. Loneliness is a serious matter, I should know, so you must have a dark and twisted kind of humor to really enjoy this. Big fan over here.
There's people and animals complaining about having all their friends dead. There's a bored angel complaining because all his friends are still alive. All sort of objects whining because they're pathetic friendless things waiting for some affection, or because their friends aren't exactly what they expected. Even poor Mr. Grim Reaper wants to connect with other people, but, sometimes, no matter how badly we want to be friends with someone, it's beyond our control and people can be severely injured...
There are some hilarious cartoons like this one:
Even if you consider someone your friend, that doesn't really mean they feel the same way. Learn how to detect your real friends, if you have any! If not, well, hmm, one less thing to worry about.

Ah, I remember reading the first one. All my Friends are Dead. Bought it in NYC, couple of years ago, in Borders I think, saw some lady laughing her *** off in a corner of the bookshop, leafing thru the book... and people walking away with multiple copies bought from the bookstore. Presents for everyone. And I thought... have to have it too! Recently found out about this sequel, All my Friends are still dead. Still pretty d*mn funny, those cartoons. :-) Recommended for a tragi-comical laugh.
Many thanks to my GR friend, Federico DN for putting these on my radar. The second is a bit darker & not quite as funny as the first, but still worth the brief time took to flip through it & have a chuckle
Here for all of the gallows humour! Whilst I still appreciated the tone of this little graphic novel, I found the wit a little punchier in the first volume. Still a delightfully dark read, however.
If you're desparately trying to find something that would help you better cope with the loss of your friends, this is NOT what you're looking for. (Humour earned an additional star although it was uncalled for)
I am in a bit of a reading slump - and I have found that there is nothing to bring one out of it than reading a graphic novel. Well, this book and its predecessor are not actually graphic novels: rather books of black humour disguised as children's books. Very tongue in cheek - and some of the jokes are sailing pretty close to the wind, especially in this book, with its suggestion of necrophilia.
The theme is death, loneliness and cruelty. The running theme is one character talking about how all their friends have passed beyond the veil, and how he/ she is the only one left. The twist is brought about by the way this morbid idea is presented: for example, a tree saying how all his friends are end tables, or a pig saying how all her friends are bacon; and the bacon and the end tables actually replying. It's funny in an extremely dark way if you don't mind that sort of thing.
However, the jokes about the necrophiliac mortician may trigger some people. So look up these two books only if you have the same twisted soul that I have.
What? Should a part 2 really meant to be published? Terrible.
I went ahead and opened up the second book literally minutes after reviewing the first one. Well, the first one was decent, made me laugh and all but this? Talk about sour face.
Maybe don't let your kids see this until they're old enough to understand. It's weird and that's coming from someone who likes weird things but this is not it.
It has a dry humor and that’s why I liked it so much. If you like dark humor you will enjoy but if you are a more serious reader then stay away from this book and be friends with boring people 😁 Lollipop says ‘my only friends are suckers or caterpillar says ‘all my friends have really changed’ 😁 First book was more fun but I enjoyed reading this one too.
Retiro lo que dije del libro pasado, esto definitivamente no es para niños.
Lo entendí cuando el dinosaurio bebé hizo su aparición, me encanta, aunque espero mis sobrinos no terminen leyéndolo.
Súper divertido, me hizo reírme mucho.
No hay más que decir, es un libro sencillo, como esas historias de los libros de texto de primaria, casi como los que venían en el amarillo de primer grado (si viven en México), pero más retorcido.
Algo que mi yo de siete años amaría, el yo de veinticuatro lo hace.
Not only is this a wonderfully witty and comedic little book, I was fortunate to received a "censored" copy of the book which made it all that much better. A younger reader, I presume, took it upon themselves to cover all the undesirable words in the book and replace them with more appropriate words, and quite frankly that just made the book 10x funnier. Five stars!!
