When is the Destiny 2 weekly reset?

A new Tuesday means another Destiny 2 weekly reset, so expect almost every activity and challenge in the game to change or reset, and perhaps even some new stuff. This is all to help you continue the loot grind, but after so many expansions with new activities and destinations, it's hard to keep track of everything going on in Destiny 2 sometimes, and a lot of it changes from week to week. Below I've detailed everything you need to know about the weekly reset, including exactly what time it happens and what actually gets reset.

What time is the weekly reset in Destiny 2?

The Destiny 2 weekly reset time is every Tuesday at 5pm UTC – that’s 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7PM CEST. If you live elsewhere in the world, find out what 5pm UTC is in your time zone to get your Destiny 2 weekly reset time. For far eastern parts of the world, such as New Zealand and Australia, the reset time will be very early on Wednesday instead. There is also a daily reset in Destiny 2 for things like bounties and vendor stock refreshes which happens at 5pm UTC every day. Bear in mind that time changes due to daylight savings will cause the weekly reset time to shift too.

The weekly reset is also usually the time Bungie implements any updates and hotfixes for the game. This means there's usually a short period of maintenance prior to 5pm UTC, causing the Destiny 2 servers to go down. When they're back online (hopefully after the rest if things went smoothly), make sure you update the game to avoid getting the cat Destiny 2 error code.

When the weekly reset happens in Destiny 2, lots of activities and challenges will rotate, change, or entirely reset. As a special case, Xur’s arrival with a new haul of Exotic items and Trials of Osiris are weekend activities that only become available with every Friday daily reset and stick around until the following weekly reset on Tuesday. Obviously, Trials of Osiris challenges are inactive when Trials isn’t around, but Saint-14 can still be accessed at any time from the Tower Hangar.
