In the Dragon Age series, managing the protagonist's and his companions' equipment is done in various ways. Each installment approached this slightly differently and the upcoming fourth part will be no exception. However, in addition to choosing equipment, we will have much more freedom regarding appearance, such as armor, thanks to the transmogrification system.

If you're going to save the world, you have to look

The release of the latest installment of Dragon Age - The Veilguard - is approaching, and as a result, we are learning more and more about the title. Thanks to Game Informer magazine's editors' visit to BioWare's offices and an interview with one of the developers, it's clear what the inventory management of Rook and his companions will look like.

Of course, Rook will receive the most equipment customization options. Our character will have space for a helmet, armor, belt, amulet, and two slots for weapons and rings. We will change the armor, ring, and weapon for our companions in turn. They will also receive one spot for accessories. This system is something between the solutions from the games Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Furthermore, in the character creation menu, we will be able to preview our protagonist's appearance with different weapons. This applies to both the initial equipment and the one we will receive in the endgame. Similar to previous installments, the equipment is to be class-limited, meaning a warrior won't be able to use mage's weapons, and some items will only be used by specific companions.

There will also be no shortage of unique weapons or armor, each with special abilities and appearances. The transmogrification system will come to the rescue right here. It will enable you to give a unique aesthetic to "ordinary" equipment or, if you prefer, transfer the statistics from the legendary dragon scale armor to a regular shirt.

You can change the style in this way for both Rook and any companion. Thanks to this, your team can either look like a group of treasure hunters who have just found an ancient tomb, or like a group of vandals. The choice should depend only on what your soul resonates with.

Dragon Age Veilguard will premiere later this year and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
