The Sims 4 Goes F2P Today; Launch Schedule

Today The Sims 4 will switch to free-to-play model. We will learn more about the future of the series during the Behind The Sims Summit broadcast.

On September 15 we informed you about the fact that The Sims 4 will be available in free-to-play model. This refers to the basic version without expansions, which players will still have to purchase. The latest installment of The Sims will be available to play for free today, but this is not the end of good news for the fans.

Free Sims and maybe something more

The Sims 4 will switch to free-to-play model today, and you will be able to play it for free on all platforms where the game is available, namely PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

At the same time an event entitled Behind The Sims Summit will begin at 7 pm CEST / 10 am PDT, during which the future of the series will be discussed. It is possible that we will learn something about the next full-fledged part of the popular brand. This would make sense, since the fourth installment is moving to F2P - it could be a kind of advertisement for the series.

At the same hour The Sims 4 should be available for free download.. If plans change, we will update this news.

At the same time, it is worth noting that The Sims 4 debuted on PC on September 2, 2014, and on consoles on November 17, 2017, so it's high time for players to get another, even more polished installment.

You can watch Behind The Sims Summit live on YouTube and Twitch.
