Free RTS on C&C: Red Alert Engine With New Release

The Dawn of the Tiberium Age, a free-to-play RTS on Red Alert's engine, has received an update, and in it, among other things, a new cooperative mission.

A new version of The Dawn of the Tiberium Age, a free fan-made RTS built on an improved version of the Command & Conquer: Red Alert engine, has been released. The project combines in one game factions from the universes of Tiberium and Red Alert, while introducing a ton of new elements and gameplay improvements.

The project offers a sizable set of new story campaigns, standalone missions and multiplayer maps. Graphics and gameplay balance have been significantly improved, and a working network system for multiplayer games has been introduced.

The new version of the game is numbered 9.8 and brings many new features, including:

  1. a new map for multiplayer games,
  2. a new cooperative mode mission,
  3. bug fixes,
  4. improved gameplay balance.

It is worth mentioning at the end that The Dawn of the Tiberium Age is a completely standalone project and you won't need Command & Conquer: Red Alert to play it. The developers were able to offer this because a long time ago Electronic Arts released a trimmed-down version of this RTS for free, and the fan project uses only elements from that release.
