After about 14 years since the release of the outstanding Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar Games studio may finally delight PC gamers by launching the game on their preferred platform. At least that's what the source code added to the Rockstar launcher today suggests. A informant specializing in Rockstar titles reached it.

The informant goes by the alias Tez2 and has posted a screenshot on X that displays a portion of the mentioned code. In it, we can read the following key sentence:

Journey across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico in Red Dead Redemption, and its zombie-horror companion, Undead Nightmare [...] now playable on PC.

If these reports are confirmed and indeed RDR hits PC, many players will probably go into euphoria. Apart from the game itself, fans are also eagerly awaiting mods, which may turn out to be "amazing."

In August 2023, the devs of Red Dead Redemption decided to release a port on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Back then, some people complained about the lack of a PC version and accused Rockstar of specifically avoiding this platform.

All we can do is wait for the official announcement from the developers of the first RDR for PCs. The revealed changes in the code give hope that it will happen in the near future. Let's remind for formality that the second installment of Red Dead Redemption hit PC just over a year after its console debut.
