No Man's Sky Update Adds Cross-play

Hello Games presented new features of the upcoming update for No Man's Sky. Thie list includes cross-play support, and the update will debut with the launch of the game in Xbox Game Pass.

No Man's Sky will soon enable us to have fun with our friends on all platforms.

Almost four years after release, No Man's Sky is the crowning evidence of how the devs' stubbornness can save a seemingly doomed title from a failed launch. Already after the NEXT update from 2018, many players forgave the game's far-from-good release, and it was by no means the last great content pack. Today, developers have announced another update, and although it is not as impressive as the aforementioned NEXT or Beyond, it will introduce a significant novelty. Hello Games will add cross-play support to No Man's Sky. This will require a complete replacement of the game's architecture, but it will also allow for cross-play between PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users. This is all the more important as PCs version of No Man's Sky will be available from tomorrow on Microsoft's official store and will be included in Xbox Game Pass.

A separate friend list is associated with the cross-play introduction. The title enables us to quickly add encountered players to the list or group, so that you can quickly find and join their sessions in the future. No Man's Sky Friends list is independent of friends within Steam, Xbox Live, and PlayStation Network and is managed in a separate window. We can also add friends by entering unique code.

The new update does not introduce any new content, so the rest of the changes are limited to various fixes. This includes restoring voice chat on PlayStation 4 and adding automatic transcription and translation. Moreover, the update includes minor improvements to optimization and VR mode, shorter loading times, and, of course, a variety of fixes. The full list of changes can be found on the game's official website.
