No Man's Sky Turned Five; Devs Celebrate and Announce Next Update

Hello Games decided to celebrate the fifth birthday of No Man's Sky with a special video showing the evolution of the game. On this occasion, the next update was also announced.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Hello Games celebrates the fifth birthday of No Man's Sky;
  • Studio's founder thanked players for the years of support and mentioned the most important moments in the game's history;
  • He also announced the next update, called Frontiers.

It's been five years since the release of No Man's Sky. Although the beginning was difficult for the developers, they did not give up and continued to develop the game, which over time really started to resemble their original vision. Subsequent updates significantly expanded the title, introducing many missing elements. Now, the moment has come when the developers decided to celebrate the fifth birthday of their creation and present a video that shows the long way it has come.

The founder of Hello Games, Sean Murray, posted an entry on PlayStation.Blog. In it, he confessed that he finds it hard to believe how long the journey of No Man's Sky was. He especially highlighted a few key updates that radically affected the look of the game. He considers Foundations, Next and Beyond updates to be such milestones. He attributes exceptional importance to the second one, as its publication was to be a turning point in the game's development. For Murray, it even felt like a re-release of No Man's Sky.

He also thanked all the fans who accompanied Hello Games on its journey. He encouraged them to continue to follow the game's development, because it will soon receive another update. It will be called Frontiers and will introduce to elements that have been on the developers' minds for a long time. Unfortunately, nothing more was revealed about it. The only thing left do to is to wait for the release.
