Nine Sols is a new souls-like platformer. The game was created by Red Candle Games thanks to money gathered during crowdfunding action. NS was released on PC, however in the future it will be available on consoles, too. As in the case of many other titles, the question arose among the players about multiplayer and coop. Let’s talk about it.

Nine Sols – Coop and Multiplayer Explained

Are you a fan of multiplayer games? Or maybe you would like to play Nine Sols in coop with friends. Regardless, we have a sad message for you – it will not happen. Developers gave a direct statement regarding this matter on the official Discord server.

Will Nine Sols have multiplayer/co-up mode?

No, Nine Sols is designed as a single player game.

While in many games multiplayer/coop can be added postlaunch, not all of them are so flexible. For some genres, it is extremely difficult to add possibility for multiple people playing in one session. In these cases, developers have to think carefully about such features while programming the title. This is true especially in the case od indie games, as small studios do not have as much money as big companies. So, we may assume that there will be no multiplayer even if the game will be a successful one – there is always a chance for a sequel with coop in mind.

So, if you are looking for a souls-like with a multiplayer mode, we recommend to check our gaming Encyclopedia – search through soulslike, platform or metroidvania genres, as this types will most likely be your cap of tea. There are many games out there, don’t be discouraged.
