New Splinter Cell is in the Works, Claims Italian Voice of Sam Fisher

The voice actor in the Italian version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell games claims that the next installment is on its way. It was originally planned to be announced this year, but the release of the project was delayed due to the coronavirus.

We hope that this time something solid will come out of rumors about Sam Fisher's return.

For the last few years there have been frequent rumors about the adventures of Sam Fisher, but so far nothing solid has come out of them. However, the latest information of this type gives us reasons for optimism.

Their source is Luca Ward, an actor who provides Fisher's Italian voice. In a recent interview, he confirmed that a new installment is planned. He also revealed that the project was due to be announced this year, but the devs decided to wait because of delays in Ubisoft's games caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Usually, the words of one actor, and one who only deals with localized versions, would not be a cause for optimism, but this time they seem credible because of Ubisoft's other recent movements. A few months ago Maxime Beland, the developer who was the creative director of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, returned to the company.

In addition, over the past few years Ubisoft has been reminding the players of the franchise on a regular basis. Fisher himself made a guest appearance in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands and later appeared in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. We also know that we will see the hero in the upcoming Tom Clancy's Elite Squad.

Moreover, last year was very abundant in reports suggesting a new installment of the franchise. First there was information that a VR game from this series might be planned, and then it was confirmed that the series would return, but in a highly experimental form. Fans also found an upcoming replica of Splinter Cell protagonist's goggles in GameStop's offer. This gadget was noteworthy, as the product description mentioned the next installment of the franchise. In fact, a dozen or so months ago, Luca Ward himself also made it clear that the return of Sam Fisher is in preparation.
