A new version of the Old World Blues mod has been released; It's a total conversion mod that takes the action of the strategy game Hearts of Iron IV into the post-apocalyptic setting of the Fallout series. The update is numbered 4.1.16 and improves gameplay balance, fixes bugs, improves AI and adds advisors for the New Reno faction, based on characters from Fallout 2.

The project changes most elements of the game. We get a completely new map, previously unknown technologies and factions, and progression trees prepared from scratch. There is also a ton of events, diversifying the fun in a world destroyed by nuclear war. On top of that, there is a number of fresh visual and sound elements.

The modification focuses on recreating North America exclusively. The action begins in the year 2275. In Old World Blues we take part in a dynamic war between various factions known from Fallout. All of them have been meticulously recreated, receiving historical characters, their own units and technologies.

The mod is superbly designed. The authors managed to successfully realize a post-apocalyptic setting, while maintaining the depth of gameplay typical of Hearts of Iron IV. HoI4 has quite a few modifications available, but most of them offer only realistic historical scenarios. Projects that move the action to fictional settings are very rare, which adds to the appeal of Old World Blues.

The project currently presents a high level of refinement and has very extensive content, but the authors are constantly working on its development. This year, among other things, a sizable set of new units has been introduced, the list of events has been expanded and the technology trees have been expanded.
