EVE Online's Roadmap for 2023 Astounds After Last Year's Boom

EVE Online players can rub their hands together in glee. According to the developers, 2023 will be full of interesting developments in the world of the space MMO.

Released in 2003, EVE Online has remained at the forefront of space MMO games for years. Last year's expansion titled Uprising, which destroyed an entire star system and led to the war of four powerful factions, proved to be a huge success.

Now the developers at CCP Games have decided to share their plans for 2023 (when, incidentally, will be the 20th anniversary of the game's release).

Uprising caused a boom

In a post on the developer blog, the creators boast about how good an impact the Uprising expansion had on the condition of the MMO. This includes an increase in the number of kills in PvP mode - by as much as 75% in Low Security and by 11% in High Security.

This had a positive effect on the game's economy. As the entry reads, the events surrounding the Uprising contributed to the development of many sectors.

"This resulted in a significant increase in industry and mining, with naval ship production increasing by 14,709% [presumably the figure is 14,000, or 709% - ed. note] and capital production by 34%!"

But how much can you live in the past. The most important topic that emerged from the developers' blog were the plans for 2023, and they are quite interesting.

EVE Online - 2023 roadmap

In the graphic published by CCP Games with a roadmap for 2023, there were many points, and some of them were specified. Still in January, we can expect an event in which players will celebrate the Chinese New Year; at the end of the same month EVE Online will see the addition of a Microsoft Excel plug-in beta. It will allow for direct download of data from the game straight into the program.

In 2023, there are plans for two major expansions. Their releases will take place in the second and fourth quarters of the year.

The game's 20th anniversary will be celebrated in many ways - one of them will be the EVE Fanfest 2023 convention, to be held in Reykjavik on September 21-23.

Fans of EVE Online certainly have something to look forward to. If you want to go into more detail, you can read the original post from the developers, which can be found at here.
