Realism of Army 3 is proving to be the perfect tool for those seeking to sow disinformation. Footage is now appearing on the Internet that purports to show Israel's war with Palestine. In fact, however, it was recorded in Bohemia Interactive Studio's game.

This is not the first time that Arma 3 is being used to spread false information on a larger scale. Last November we heard about exactly the same problem. At that time, however, the materials were "depicting" the war in Ukraine. The situation was so serious that Bohemia Interactive Studio, responsible for the development of the title, had to issue an announcement in which it condemned this action.

Now, unfortunately, history has come full circle and Czech developers have again expressed their disappointment that their game is being used for such evil acts. At the same time, they recalled their guide showing how to recognize "fake news." Here are some of the most important details to pay attention to.

  1. The game can realistically simulate the movement of vehicles, but it does less well with people. Therefore, such footage does not show soldiers.
  2. Fake videos often have no sound.
  3. The behavior of fire, smoke and other particle effects does not look realistic.

Of course, Bohemia Interactive has no control over how people use its game. Issuing such an announcement therefore seems to be the only step they can take.
