Niconico Chokaigi 2022 was held from 23-30 April, with a physical event held from 29-30 April 2022 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The annual event is held by Niconico Douga (nicovideo.jp), Japan’s largest social video website, as a celebration of the site’s user community and culture, bringing together a myriad of genres in a melting pot. The event, as always, had its highlights also streamed on the website itself.
Events and activities at the Chokaigi 2022 included video game streamers doing live streams on stage, Vtuber and Vocaloid concerts, dance-offs, exhibitions of railway, military, and scientific topics, mini doujin events included within Chokaigi itself, cosplay, and even traditional Japanese kabuki theater.
