My Hero Academia Chapter 428 is coming back after the break last week – here’s the release date and major spoilers of the upcoming chapter.

After a decade of serialization, My Hero Academia is coming to an end. The manga is in the middle of wrapping up the epilogue. So far we’ve learned the fates of major characters like Shigaraki, Dabi, Endeavor, Hawks, and Spinner.

However, the manga has more questions to answer before it ends. We still don’t know what happened to Toga and whether Deku would get One For All back. What’s more, the manga has introduced a mysterious new character in Chapter 425.

With so many mysteries left, the hype for the upcoming chapter is at an all-time high. The manga only has three chapters left, including Chapter 428. So, we can count on Kohei Horikoshi to make all of them count.

My Hero Academia Chapter 428 spoilers

The title of My Hero Academia Chapter 428 is ‘A Girl Who Loves Smiles’. The chapter starts with the new Class 1-A girls chasing after Bakugo and Shoto. This leads to some hilarious interactions between the characters, including Deku revealing how Bakugo has never been popular with girls. But while this is all happening, Ochako looks on with a mysterious expression.

When the new Class 2-A is asked for an interview again, Aizawa rejects since many of them don’t want the attention. The young heroes then help some civilians repair their buildings. All the while Ochako looks withdrawn but with a fake smile on her face.

On the construction site, Edgeshot is revealed to have turned into a miniature form, following his sacrifice to save Bakugo’s life. He also reveals how he can’t turn back to normal but is determined to be his best self, earning a grateful smile from the Explosion user.

Ochako continues to wear her fake smile and tells the civilians how glad she is now that everyone is happy and optimistic. Deku and Tsuyu can see how she’s not herself, but Ochako doesn’t give them an opening to talk to her about it.

In the evening, while most of Class 2-A are at the dorms, Ochako is nowhere to be seen. Tsuyu tells Deku she said she was going home but hasn’t been answering texts. Cut to the girl in question, she’s gazing at the city below from the same hill from Chapter 342.

Ochako says how happy she is to see everyone smiling but breaks down in tears when she remembers Toga’s tearful smile during their fight. She confesses how the cameras didn’t catch the conclusion of their battle, thus, missing Toga’s sacrifice, and it’s been eating her from the inside.

But everyone’s happy now and she doesn’t want to run the mood. “That’s why I’m suppressing the pain from this wound”, Ochako thinks to herself, placing her hand on her stomach.

As she breaks down in agony, Deku suddenly arrives. My Hero Academia Chapter 428 ends with Deku shouting, “Uraraka!!!”
