The Veil Nebula

The Veil Nebula is a beautiful supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. With a 135mm lens, you can capture a stunning widefield image, including the surrounding nebulae and bright stars. This time, my (manual) dithering technique worked as well!

To capture the faint blue regions of the Cirrus, I'll probably need to gather even more light with an unmodified camera. Nevertheless, I'm very pleased with the image!

Right now, we're experiencing a string of good astro days. The only nuisance is our common foe: the Moon.

Equipment used:

• 2000Da + Walimex 135mm t2.2 lens
• Star Adventurer GTi mount
• 133 x 90 seconds exposures, totaling approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes
• ISO 800, f/2.8

  Der Cirrus-Nebel ist ein wunderschöner Supernova-Überrest im Sternbild Schwan.
  Mit 135mm bekommt man eine schöne Widefield Aufnahme mit den umliegenden Nebeln und hellen Sternen.
  Diesmal hat auch mein (manuelles) Dithering funktioniert! Für die ganzen schwachen blauen Teile des Cirrus muss ich vermutlich noch mehr Licht sammeln mit einer unmodifizierten Kamera.
  
  Dennoch bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Bild!
  
  Im Moment kommt ein guter Astro Tag nach dem anderen.
  Der einzige Störenfried ist unser aller Feind: Der Mond
