Ginny Fahs is the Director of Product R&D at Consumer Reports’ Innovation Lab. Her group puts technology to work for consumers, developing prototypes and new product offerings that enhance consumer power and informed choice.
In 2023 the Innovation Lab launched Permission Slip by CR, a mobile app that helps consumers take back control of their data from companies. Permission Slip received significant media attention including in The Washington Post and on The Today Show, was named one of Fast Company’s Next Big Things In Tech, and contributed to CR winning Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies award. The app was also nominated for Webby Awards in the Technical Achievement and Public Service & Activism categories.
Prior to joining CR, Ginny was a software engineer at Uber and a Technology Policy Fellow at the Aspen Institute. She was also co-founder and Executive Director of #MovingForward, a social movement to address harassment and discrimination in venture capital.
Ginny holds a Bachelor of Arts in History & Literature from Harvard University and a Master’s in Business Administration from INSEAD, a global business school with campuses in Europe and Asia.
