Absolute trash

I've seen a lot of movies, and this one is by far the most awful excuse for a film that I have ever seen. The acting is awful and unrealistic (albeit adjusted to the style the movie is in) and the writing is just appalling. It's quite explicit (drinking, swearing, the occasional sexy time) and the plot is incredibly basic, completely revolving around established stereotypes but exaggerated 10 fold. This movie is clearly targeted towards teenagers with its awful over-the-top romance story, but give this one a miss. It is not worth the sacrifice of your sanity

BEST MOVIE

im not sure why everyone is making a big deal about this movie. it has a kissing and one reference to a condom. It is really good and I love this movie, but if you are unsure watch it with your kid. I watched it at 11 and I thought it was really good.

Adorable first love

Really sweet, huge life lessons, and adorable young first love. There is a scene where she takes off her dress and there is a bit of drinking but it is truly harmless.

Great but not very appropriate

This is such a great movie to watch with your friends or mom but there is a lot off iffy stuff. For example they do have sex and there is a scene wear the girl main character is topless on the bed. there is a lot of use of the f word and many more. There is also many scenes with under aged drinking and chugging beer. Over all it also has a bad message which is that the main character dates this violent guy (not to her) and over all is not a very good person, breaks up with him and ends up going back to him even though he is not the person for her. It's a great movie just people 14 and down should not be watching this.

Awful movie

One of the worst movies I have ever seen. The main character is repeatedly Sexual harassed, but it is blown off as "funny", and underaged drinking/sex are often promoted. One of the main characters is praised for his toxic masculinity and anger issues. It sends a horrible message to teenagers and kids.

How can people say that this is RoMaNtIc

Such a terrible Netflix film, with abusive relationships and unoriginal personalities. Okay, so the main character likes her best friend's older brother, Noah, who's a bad boy, because that's the factor of "modern day romance," but she and her best friend, Lee, made up these FRIENDSHIP RULES where relatives are off limits when it comes to dating. Excuse me? You have RULES for a friendship? But that's not even the worst part. For me, the worst part was Noah. He's controlling Elle, and not letting any of the boys ask her out! And then he slams his fist on his car and yells at Elle to "GET IN THE CAR!" I mean, I'm fine with the girl liking her best friend's brother like some forbidden love, but they went too far with the "bad boy" violence. The school situation is so cliche and stereotypical. I had enough of the Plastics inspired thing, and nerdy kids picking their noses, or whatever. Film is definitely not appropriate for kids. There's brothers who try to kill each other (exaggerating but they were threatening each other), Elle and Noah having sex at the Hollywood sign (no naked scenes, but they were taking each other's clothes off), and a lot of swearing.

Great movie but please read review(:

I think it’s a great movie overall. The main character kisses and has implied sex with her best friend’s older brother, without telling him. There is brief cursing, and the boyfriend has anger issues, and gets into a lot of fights including with his younger brother. I think a mature 10 year old or older could watch this, but probably not younger. Good movie for sleepovers with a friend.
