Publisher's Summary
From the age of uniformity.
From the age of solitude and doublethink.
From the age of Big Brother.
From me, Winston Smith.
Greetings.
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.
Starring Andrew Garfield as Winston, Cynthia Erivo as Julia, Andrew Scott as the alluring, mysterious O’Brien, and featuring Tom Hardy as Big Brother, Audible presents a new dramatization of George Orwell’s classic tale. An immersive listening experience like none you’ve heard before, at a time when it has all never felt more chillingly relevant.
Featuring a haunting original score composed by Muse’s lead singer and songwriter Matthew Bellamy and Ilan Eshkeri, recorded by the London Metropolitan Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, the production is directed by BAFTA Award winner Destiny Ekaragha, produced in Dolby Atmos by Granny Eats Wolf, and dramatised by Olivier Award nominated writer Joe White.
Also starring Chukwudi Iwuji, Romesh Ranganathan, Natasia Demetriou, Francesca Mills, Alex Lawther and Katie Leung.
Featuring Ian Abeysekera, Rachel Atkins, Grace Baker, Joanna Brookes, Clare Corbett, Doug Devaney, Imogen Front, Sam Garioch, Raj Ghatak, Frances Jeater, Mason Moore, Yasmin Mwanza, Harry Myers, Kaelum Nelson, John Sackville, Sienna Sangha, Sam Stafford, Jo Troy, Jenny White, Sarah Whitehouse & Alix Wilton Regan
This adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984 is an immersive listening experience, containing scenes that some may find uncomfortable. Listener discretion is advised.
Available in Dolby Atmos.

only the music and the dialect
the story was really shabby not worth it with an even shabbier ending the story line could have been way better especially after a good first half

Unforgettable Experience
This is one of the very best productions Audible has ever come up with,in my knowledge anyway.
When you have to come up with a dramatised version of a classic, there is always the danger of making it a damp Squib.
Not the case here for sure.
Andrew Garfield portrays Winston Smith like a dream.
Tom Hardy as The Big Brother is ominous and frightening.
The production value, back ground music were superb.
Thank you Audible for this unforgettable experience.
I hope you guys would come up with such productions with other classics as well.
Much recommended.

Captivating
A big thank you to audible for this book. George Orwell is relevant more than ever in today's world. the story of course is outstanding in its horror and spine chillingly real. the production was outstanding. It transported me to this bleak world. the acting was also great. I did feel that Andrew Garfield overdid it a bit in parts. especially in early chapters with first interacting with Julia. but his genuine fear, defiance and pain completely made up for it in the end.

Stellar cast, Chilling performance
Andrew Garfield and Andrew Scott were absolutely brilliant; they showed what power an audio performance can have and what talented voice actors they are! This audio production of 1984 presented the dystopian world, the fear of thought crime, and lack of control and collective amnesia among the people so so well. Tom Hardy saying, "Big Brother is watching you" sent chills.
I would warn though, that the sounds of panic, death, inhumane activities have been added in the audiobook so disturbing content is there. However, everything is hauntingly relevant and George Orwell's 1984 is an analogy of our current world.

To me, it was Julia's character. It's stupid but I'm sucker for those type of girls.
I really liked the ending and the pacing. I did have minor issues with sudden scene changes, my that's a problem on my part. I would have appreciated a little bit more plot on the proles though, they were interesting.
