Publisher's summary

From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Aladdin.

She’s his diamond in the rough. He’s her worst nightmare.

Yasmin Karam, daughter of one of the richest men in the world, has never known strife. So, when her beloved father falls ill, she is determined to make his final days his happiest. His last wish? To see her married to a man of his choosing. Except Yasmin’s heart already belongs to someone else. A servant. A street rat. A man her father would never consider worthy.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Yasmin strikes a desperate deal with her father’s right-hand man, Julian, not realizing he has his own twisted agenda.

Julian Faraci has one goal: become the most powerful man in the world. He has built a future from broken bones and faded bruises, never caring who he hurt along the way. But when his mentor falls ill, he finds himself on the verge of losing everything, and he’ll stop at nothing to inherit what is rightfully his—even if it means forcing a woman he can’t stand into marriage.

Yasmin is a brat who speaks out of turn, and he’s the villain of her story. But he decides she’ll be his―no matter what it takes to convince her.

Formulaic but such fun!

McIntire seems to have a formula down. I read Hooked first, and this felt very similar to that but with its own flavor. A fun & wild ride but I would have liked a little more separation between those two books. The narration was amazing!!!

NAILED IT!

Another Never After book and another time Emily McIntire nailed it!

Twisted is the Aladdin retelling and while not my favorite I have zero complaints about how this all played out.

Yasmin is in love with the servants boy and some day she will be brave enough to tell her dad but that day hasn't come yet and now her father is dying and wishes for her to be married. Yasmin certainly cannot run the family business (not because she can't but because her dad doesn't think it's a woman's place) and now he needs her to marry advantageously so that her husband can keep the business running and protect Yasmin. Julian, her father's right hand man, is rightfully indignant that the man he looks up to as a father figure hasn't once considered HE could take over the business when he passes. In a twisted turn of events Julian and Yasmin end up married. No big deal to Julian, once the father is out of the way it will be nothing to get rid of Yasmin so he can finally have everything he ever wanted. We all know how those plans usually play out.

I shall now impatiently wait for Crossed, The Hunchback of Notre Dame retelling.

Marcio is my new obsession!

I have listened to Hooked and Scarred and out of the three, this one is the weakest. It started out so good when he caught her with Aiden, but it just kinda fizzled out. Also, Julian seems softer and not as much of a villain as James or Tristan for some reason…
I have never listened to Marcio and oh boy i am seeking other books narrated by him now! Sandi is okay, she sounds too old for Yasmin imo.

5 starts for this one

Would recommend to someone starting with dark smut novela. Doesnt have any major triggers and lots of sexy scenes. Enjoyed the narration as well. Will continue down the list of books from Emily McIntire.

I knew I had a thing for Jafar before but Julian is elite

Who doesn’t love a forced marriage, fake marriage, enemies to lovers? Seriously sooo good. Very spicy too

Loved it

This was a spin on Aladdin’s story and I had my doubts that there would be any redemption for Juilian but once again Emily McIntyre pulls it off!

It’s definitely twisted

What an ending! It’s worth a read, highly recommend. Delicious spice, suspenseful, and the voices are perfect.

All the Fun Aladdin vibes

⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌶🌶🌶.5

I enjoyed this a lot more than the previous one which kind of disappointed me. This gave me all the Alladin vibes, but our couple is Jafar and Jasmin instead. This was a great age gap, spicy romance and I felt like it was a lot more plot driven than the last one. I liked both of the characters and you could feel their chemistry. The betrayal was pretty obvious, but I didn't mind it.

Great Retelling of Aladdin

The story was well written with hints of Aladdin that is well known thrown in perfectly. Great enemies to lovers. Wonderful twists.
