Night Shyamalan and Stephen King, Bloodhound is a coming-of-age suspense drama about Jay Pulver, a trans college student who discovers he has mysteriously acquired superhuman abilities when he accidentally kills his sister’s ex-boyfriend. Recruited by a brilliant but eccentric scientist at the FBI, Jay is tasked with employing his unique powers to track down a domestic terrorist group currently setting off bombs around Washington, DC.

As Jay comes to grips with his new abilities, he must grapple with his own family trauma—and what he's internalized about what it means to be a man—before he loses himself and everything that matters to him.

The story was exciting and interesting the idea of what can happen when you experiment with the human body… don’t get me started!

East listen - fun twists

I enjoyed a story that included a character from the GLBTQ community but it was ABOUT that. Nice change.

A Bit On the Nose

The story was a little too on-the-nose for me. A trans man whose super power is sensing and reflecting toxic masculinity (not a totally accurate description, to be fair) lacks subtlety. But the performances were really good and it was diverting to listen to and definitely a different take on LGBTQ+ coming of age.

Silly science!

If you want the science in sf to be logical and hang together this is NOT the book for you. If you just accept the silly science this is a fast paced enjoyable book. Probably the best sound recording I’ve ever listened to!

loved this!

Bloodhound is a well-written, engaging, and heartfelt story. It’s smart and full of compelling science. It’s also gripping and fast-paced with exciting, interconnected turns. I love the intimacy between the characters and the way the story of Jay’s family unfolds. Highly recommended.

fun

voice actors were great. plot was unique. it was short and sweet. would have been cool of this was a longer story and more details could have been fleshed out and more character development could have taken place.
