Story
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

Fun story! Great narration and acting. I finished the whole thing in one sitting. I gave the story 4.5 stars because at the end it was confusing what exactly happened. It was very clear during the story the different “time zones” and who was where. Then the end was convoluted how it was resolved. This was disappointing since the rest of the story was so great.
Regardless, I recommend this book to any contemporary rom com lovers. It was fun and engaging. Definitely worth the credit.

Story
The Christmas party at the Sea Glass Inn is a long-held tradition, one the townspeople of Blackbird Beach consider the kick-off of the Christmas season. Until, of course, the inn closed, and the party stopped happening. Now Georgia Carpenter has decided it’s time to restart that tradition, even though the party is a massive undertaking and one that will influence how people feel about the inn for the rest of the year. With the help of her sister, Lilly, Georgia hopes to put on an event that will be merry and bright and spark new interest in the business.

Can’t recommend this whole series enough!
While each book is reminds the reader of the history of the characters, they’re not really standalone stories. It is definitely better to read/listen in order. Some of the previous books end on a cliffhanger but if you have the next book in the series, it’s not a problem.
If you like sweet stories with romance and a little intrigue, read the Blackbird Beach series!

I loved the first three books. Angst, sweet and satisfying.
Book four left more to be desired. I was actually pretty disappointed. After meeting Hayden in book one, I expected more from him. Anna was a great heroine until the end. While I cheered her standing up for herself, she came out looking shallow and vain.
Nonetheless, hearing about the other brothers with their appearances helped.
Despite my disdain for book four, I highly recommend the series and look forward to reading/listening to the rest of the books!

Story
Kitty Harris has it all: cosily coupled up with boyfriend Archie, she’s putting in the hours at an ad agency to land her dream job. OK, so maybe they’ve become a bit too comfortable in their routine, with pizza night every Thursday, and maybe the agency isn’t so much up-and-coming as been-and-gone, but Kitty is happy. Until one diamond ring sitting pretty in her pepperoni ruins everything. Kitty does NOT want to get married, not after being caught in the crosshairs of her parent’s destructive divorce.

Awesome story! Amazing author! Crazy awesome narrator!
So why the overall 4 stars? Simply because there were more than a few times the story got too slow. Not uninteresting but slow to the point I wanted to skip a bit. I tried to but ended up rewinding because I invariably missed something.
I absolutely loved Kitty and Leo. There were times I was so jealous of Kitty, I wasn’t sure I could finish the chapter.
This book felt real. It felt like something that actually did or could happen. Were there times the characters were frustrating or maddening? Absolutely. But that’s just the mark of an excellent author.
Upon finishing, I immediately looked for more books by Ms. Slade. I haven’t found any yet. Pleeease don’t make us wait too long!
Well done, Ms. Slade. Well done.

Story
Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

Fun meet cute!
Reviewed: 02-02-21
This is my first book by Cara Bastone in audiobook or print. I’m sold. I absolutely loved the meet cute in which the H and h meet. It was such a departure from 90% of all other rom coms! There’s some drama interspersed, plenty of sweet moments, fun comedic scenes and more than one plot twist. Not to mention the most awesome HEA. There is no cliff hanger (thank you, Cara!) but I would absolutely LOVE to hear more about Vera and Cal! We NEED more Vera and Cal!! And Elliott and Paloma! Well Cara, you just need to make this into a series...stat. Please? 🥰
I’m a fairly new audiophile but I’ve heard enough audiobooks over the last few months to make me question my Audible subscription. After listening to Luci Christian and Neil Hellergers, I have new hope!! These narrators knocked. It. Out. Of. The Park!! I love them. Now I’ll be actively looking for more books read by them. This book also had extra sound effects that added to the whole listening experience. Way to go editor(s)!!
All I all this is great book! I can’t wait to use my credits on more Cara Bastone’s books as I not so patiently wait for her next release. 😉
