Story
Bobby Brown has been one of the most compelling American artists of the past 30 years, a magnetic and talented figure who successfully crossed over many musical genres, including R&B and hip-hop as well as the mainstream. In the late 1980s, the former front man of New Edition had a wildly successful solo career - especially with the launch of Don't Be Cruel - garnering multiple hits on the Billboard top 10 list as well as several Grammy, American Music, and Soul Train awards.

Bobby’s Narration…
Reviewed: 06-13-24
I love when celebrities read their own books, however, I feel that Bobby should have paid someone to read for him. I don’t know if he didn’t get the proper education or he was just nervous or all the drugs messed him up, but he doesn’t read very well which is sad. The lack of emotion and the pauses is the wrong spots annoyed me. He reads like my kids did in elementary school.
Other than Bobby’s lack of reading skills, the book was good! I enjoyed hearing what happened between him & New Edition. The biopics and media always made it seem a lot different “Bobby is a loose cannon. Kick him out the group”. If you enjoy pop culture this is a must read - but you may want to buy the actual book and read it yourself.

The book was an interesting glimpse into Ru’s life as a kid and growing up gay or queer when it wasn’t popularized by tv and social media. I enjoyed getting to peek into his life. Books narrated by the author are always the best!

In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

It was semi nice to hear Britt’s side of the story but it honestly wasn’t anything new that hasn’t been put out. Michelle Williams is a horrible narrator & needs to decline narrating books in the future. She almost sounded like Britt but not enough to make it believable or make me want to listen. Bc I always finish what I start, I powered through this story and horrible narration. It sucks what Brit went through at the hands of her parents

Story
After Katmere, I shouldn't be surprised by anything. Including the existence of a world beyond my world called the Shadow Realm. Yet here I am, stuck in a strange, dangerous place with the worst of the supernaturals, the monster that other monsters fear: Hudson Vega. He might be Jaxon's brother and ridiculously hot, but he's a complete bona fide pain in my ass. The question is whether we'll find a way out before I kill him...or run out of time.

This book sucks. It’s boring and I can’t stand the man narrating as Hudson. I wanted to like this book and forced myself to continue listening but it’s hard to do. I finally have 4 hrs left and I’m still bored and wish it were over!!
I don’t care what happened when they were stuck inside Grace when she turned Gargoyle to save Jackson. That happened so long ago that it’s no longer relevant 🙄
The man narrating needs to stick to the male parts. I’ve said this before in reviews. The woman narrating can do the reading of everyone except males but she sounds better than a man trying to sound like a woman 🙄
This series should have ended at book 4. This book (5) is extremely disappointing. I was SO looking forward to it too 🥺 I hope book 6 brings it but I’m skeptical.

The story line was cute. I wish the book were a tad longer. Narration was good BUT, the male reader should NOT have read the female parts - at all. He sounded dumb …. Nothing worse than a man with a nice voice trying to sound like a woman 🙄. Instead of having the female & male readers both reading one chapter then switching off, he could have read the whole book - minus the female speaking parts. Other than that it was a good short story

Why can’t you attract and keep a quality man? It’s because you don’t know how they really think. But this groundbreaking new book changes all that.... The fact is, you can attract a man. It doesn’t matter if you are tall, short, fat or skinny. It doesn’t matter what color your skin is. It doesn’t matter whether you are filthy rich or flat broke. You can get a man. But the problem is, will he be the honorable, virtuous, and committed guy that you really deserve? I’m betting not.

This book is all based off this dude’s opinion, and only his opinion. There’s no science behind it & his voice is annoying. There’s some stuff he says that *should* be common sense to women but ya never know. Then he tops it off by basically saying we should cater to men & their needs. I’ll be requesting a refund for this junk.
