What a great listen

I didn't want this to end at all the pace of the story was great and the suspense was just right. It's a shame when people can't take no for an answer and ego causes destruction. I loved the back story with the dogs and how taking your mind off your issues to help another yields BIG rewards.

What a great idea for the club, thinking of the agenda as a marketing tool. Now I understand why our VPE shares the agenda during our meetings. It remains a share during our virtual meetings and I get it now.
Great point

This story kept my teeth clenched and my boo-tay on the edge of my sit. I was loving the story then we got to chapter seven, where I was deflated at the twist, but it quickly redeemed. The thriller continued and yanked me back in after the shoot out in the park, but then we get to the end and my eyes bulged. This listen was so good it was filled with intrigue and suspense
To leave us with that cliffhanger pissed me off, but it takes nothing from this listen.
I’d like to introduce you to the next______________ of the US, fill in the blank.

When Dolly's love of garage sales results in her showing up at Color Me Read with a rare book in hand, Florrie is astounded. The Florist was first published in 1760, and an original copy would be worth a fortune. That same evening, Florrie finds Dolly dead on the floor of her apartment, a corner of a coloring book page clutched in her hand.

My journal has no less than 12 Post-it notes inside it, each marking a clip that somehow felt more important than the last. This title was released in July 2021 and I’m surprised this is the first review. The topic is such a buzz word right now “emotional intelligence” and the nuggets hidden within certainly deserve to be read.
Chapter two holds most of my post- it notes focused on learning, understanding and focus on my emotions. One comment the author said was “investigate my emotions by understanding what the root cause is” WHAT, what is Jordan talking about I’m mad, I’m afraid period! But then the author shares this mood meter and says when we learn more words it allows for better articulation BOOM priceless.
Not only will you find great information in this title but you will also get exercises to complete which allows the reader/listener moments of personal reflection along with regurgitation of the chapter. Outstanding 5 chapters that I will review over and over.
Lastly the author actually narrates the title and does an excellent job keeping her audience engaged.
If you want a book on emotional intelligence or understanding how you show up in the world this is it.

Story
By day, Florrie Fox manages Color Me Read bookstore in Georgetown, Washington D.C. By night, she creates her own intricately detailed coloring books for adults, filling the pages with objects that catch her eye. There's plenty of inspiration in her new apartment - a beautiful carriage house belonging to Professor John Maxwell, Florrie's boss. He offers the property to Florrie rent-free with one condition - she must move in immediately to prevent his covetous sister and nephew from trying to claim it. When the professor's nephew, Delbert, arrives, he proves just as sketchy as Florrie

I didn't know what to expect with this listen but boy oh boy I was pleasantly surprised. The more I learn about desperate people and the lengths they go to to get what they want blows me away.
Sasha was a character that I couldn't stand but I understood her, Iris was her polar opposite motherly, mind and compassionate two families threaded together misconception, lies and the ultimate betrayal.
If you are looking for a quick listen that will make your jaw drop this is it.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this title because of the mixed reviews but it was really good. At times I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation for what was next. Was Brandon and Jasmine going to win, or Manny and Laureli? This story could happen to any one of us so protect your home as best you can.
One thing I learned from this story was that old saying you catch more bees with honey than vinegar. Many was the honey and unfortunately Brandon was the vinegar…..
