The superb narrative, supported by an outstanding cast, encouraged the quick, encompassing pace of this clever and suspenseful audiobook. I took this audiobook out to dinner with me – the perfect date – and finished it in the same evening.

The only saving grace of this novel is the strong narration of Troy Duran ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

Dorothy Ramsay's narration earns one ⭐. Her voice was like listening to nails being scratched across a chalkboard. I felt like I was being waterboarded listening to her harsh, old-sounding voice. There was no way I could believe this was the voice of a young woman in her twenties.

When it is all said and done, the 11-hour read time could easily be pared down to 6 hours by omitting 70% of the sloppy sexual encounters. Some phrases are used repeatedly, indeed often enough to start keeping a tally of them and then there are the identical thoughts conveyed ad nauseam just by changing the verb and a word. Eeks, Just stop 🖐️🛑

The female and male main characters are egotistic, selfish, self-serving, and entitled.

I could have 🤢vomited when Ethan, who views Tara as an investment, haughtily regales her pussy belongs to him and not to her. He gets off on spanking her bottom and other lady bits.

Why would Tara with her innate superiority, think this is sexy in any way?

He is an arrogant prick who believes he is a superior specimen of manhood both mentally and physically – this male gives the word MAN a depraved and debauched connotation.

She is repugnant, a woman with self-worth issues, and gets off on mental and physical abuse – this female associates the word WOMAN with victimization, immorality, self-indulgence, and weakness.

I guess this makes them perfect for each other.

Narrators Spoiled this book for me

The storyline is appealing, and the story is well thought out. The progression of the characters in the story is excellent.
However, the narrators left me cold. The male narrator sounded like a woman, forcing a male voice. Indeed, I thought it was a woman doing the narrating until I looked up the names online when I finish the book. The female narrator was passable, but seemed to be rushed and or hysterical in her speech pattern. Surely better narrators could be found. The combination of the two sabotaged the book for me.

The narrators tone was flat, droning on, and on. The way the book was written was difficult to understand, and then the narrator on top of that, good grief!
