The OnePlus 10T and Vivo X80 Pro are the latest high-end smartphones from their respective companies. The OnePlus 10 Pro is still OnePlus’ flagship, kind of, but the OnePlus 10T does beat it in some ways. In any case, in this article, we’ll compare the OnePlus 10T vs Vivo X80 Pro. These two phones are aiming for similar types of consumers, and both have a lot to offer, that’s for sure.
The two phones are quite different, though. So it will be interesting to see how they compare across a number of categories. As per usual, we’ll first list their specifications, and will then move to a number of other categories. We’ll compare the designs and displays of the two phones, along with their performance, battery life, camera performance, and audio. Do note that the Vivo X80 Pro is a lot more expensive than the OnePlus 10T. Having said that, let’s get started.

OnePlus 10T vs Vivo X80 Pro: Design
Both of these phones are quite large, there’s no denying that. They also both include a centered display camera hole, and thin bezels. Both phones include glass on their back (there are variants with grippier backs, though, mostly in China. We’ll focus on glass iterations). That’s where similarities end, though. The OnePlus 10T includes a flat display, while Vivo opted for a curved panel here. The OnePlus 10T comes with a plastic frame, while the Vivo X80 Pro has a frame made out of metal.
If you flip the two phones around, you’ll see significant differences. The look of the back glass is different, but rest assured, both smartphones are quite slippery because of it. The camera islands are quite different. The Vivo X80 Pro’s is larger, as it includes an additional glass panel. So, it takes up quite a large portion of the phone’s back. The OnePlus 10T’s looks as if it protrudes from the side. Vivo actually has one more camera on the back, more on that later.
They don’t feel that much different in the hand, well, until you start using them. The Vivo X80 Pro is a bit heavier, and using its curved glass display is also a different experience. They are similar in both terms of height and width. The same actually goes for thickness, actually, as they’re almost equally thick (around 9mm). Using a case is recommended with both devices. They do feel premium, but they’re really slippery.
OnePlus 10T vs Vivo X80 Pro: Display
Both devices have gorgeous, and large displays. The OnePlus 10T includes a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2412 x 1080) Fluid AMOLED display. That panel is flat, and it offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It can project up to 1 billion colors, and it’s protected by the Gorilla Glass 5. HDR10+ content is also supported. We’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here, and a PPI of 394. The OnePlus 10T has a slightly lower screen-to-body ratio compared to the Vivo X80 Pro.
The Vivo X80 Pro, on the flip side, features a 6.78-inch QHD+ (3200 x 1440) LTPO3 AMOLED display. This display is curved, and it offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It can project up to 1 billion colors, and it supports HDR10+ content. It also gets quite bright at 1,500 nits of peak brightness. We’re looking at a 20:9 display aspect ratio here, and a PPI of 517.
Both of these displays are excellent in real-life, though the Vivo X80 Pro’s does have an edge. It’s a better display on paper, and sharper, though that’s not something many of you will notice in real-life. Both displays are bright, vivid, and have excellent viewing angles. They’re also both very responsive to the touch. The Vivo X80 Pro panel does get a bit brighter, and it does offer an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). You can’t really go wrong with either one, you’ll enjoy both panels.
OnePlus 10T vs Vivo X80 Pro: Performance
Both of these phones are quite powerful on paper, and they actually do offer good performance overall. Let’s start with the performance-related specs, though, shall we. The OnePlus 10T is fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, while the Vivo X80 Pro comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The former is definitely the better SoC, not only performance-wise, but in terms of heat and power management. The performance side is not something you’ll feel, well, you won’t feel the difference, as both are blazing fast.
Both companies decided to utilize LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which is a good thing. The OnePlus 10T offers up to 16GB of RAM, while the Vivo X80 Pro offers up to 12GB of RAM. Android 12 comes pre-installed on both phones, but their skins are considerably different. OxygenOS is included on the OnePlus 10T, while the Vivo X80 Pro ships with the company’s Funtouch skin. Both are quite good, though.
These two phones will fly through anything you throw at them during your usage, and that includes gaming. They can play the most demanding games without a problem, and both companies did a good job when it comes to heat management. We never felt like either phone is too hot, though they both get quite warm during gaming sessions. Occasional hiccups are present, but the lag is not. They offer great performance overall.
OnePlus 10T vs Vivo X80 Pro: Battery
The OnePlus 10T includes a 4,800mAh battery, while the Vivo X80 Pro has a 4,700mAh battery pack. The OnePlus 10T is the one that offers better battery life, though. It could be a combination of its processor and OnePlus’ optimization, along with a lower-res display which is also slightly smaller. Well, it most probably is. Either way, the Vivo X80 Pro has good battery life, but the OnePlus 10T blows it out of the water in that regard.
We were able to get over 10 hours of screen-on-time with the OnePlus 10T during our testing, several times. The phone can easily go over 8 hours of screen-on-time during the day, at least it did for us. Gaming may change that, of course. The Vivo X80 Pro should be able to get you over the 6-hour screen-on-time mark without a problem, and way past it, but nowhere near the OnePlus 10T numbers. Do note that your usage, location, signal, and many other aspects will affect battery life, so your numbers may be completely different.
Both of these phones support truly fast charging. The OnePlus 10T charging is faster, but the Vivo X80 Pro is more versatile. The OnePlus 10T supports 150W (125W in the US) fast wired charging. That’s it, no wireless charging support. The Vivo X80 Pro, on the flip side, supports 80W wired, 50W wireless, and also reverse wireless charging. Both phones do ship with a charging brick included.
OnePlus 10T vs Vivo X80 Pro: Cameras
The OnePlus 10T includes three cameras on the back, while the Vivo X80 Pro has four. A 50-megapixel main camera is backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide unit on the OnePlus 10T. A 2-megapixel macro camera is also included. The Vivo X80 Pro boasts a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide unit, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, and an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto unit.
Overall, the Vivo X80 Pro does take better pictures. The main camera on the OnePlus 10T is good, but the rest are not that great. The Vivo X80 Pro does a great job with basically every camera, though. The images do end up being quite clear and very detailed, even though the phone can take sharpening a bit too far sometimes. There are also regular and ZEISS modes to choose from. The latter is great if you like more realistic photos.
The Vivo X80 Pro also does a better job in low light, as it manages to retain more detail. In fact, you can make images look like they were taken during the day, if you want. The OnePlus 10T is not bad in that regard either. That 2-megapixel camera on the back of the OnePlus 10T is not good, though. It can take a decent photo under great lighting, sometimes, but other than that, it’s not that useful. OEMs should stop using 2-megapixel macro cameras.
Audio
You will not find an audio jack on either of these two phones, unfortunately. You can always rely on a Type-C port, if you need a wired connection. For a wireless connection, both devices are equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, along with A2DP, LE, and aptX HD.
They also come with stereo speakers. Speakers are good on both phones, but the Vivo X80 Pro does stand out. It simply sounds as if it has a wider soundstage, so the sound is more detailed, and a bit sharper. Both sets of speakers get quite loud.
