This charger is really great to pick up since it is about 34% smaller than other 100W chargers – including Apple’s 96W charger. How is this possible? Gallium Nitride. For many, many years, companies used Silicone inside chargers to help keep them cool. However, Gallium Nitride or GaN can do this better, with less space. So, with a GaN charger, you’re able to get the same performance in a smaller package. And who doesn’t want a more powerful charger in a smaller package?
It’s a 3-port charger, so obviously, you’re not going to be able to get 100W out of each port. However, if you use a single USB-C port, you will get the full 100W. While the USB-A port does max out at 22.5W. If you’re using all three, one USB-C will do 45W, the other will do 30W, and the third will do 18W.
Additionally, this charger does have a foldable plug, which makes it really great for travel as you can toss this into your bag and not worry about the plug getting bent from other things in your bag. It can’t get much better than that, right?
