Herman Miller makes some of the best office and gaming chairs in the world, and today the company has announced a refreshed version of the Vantum gaming chair that comes in four new colors. When Herman Miller initially released the Vantum in 2022 it came in three color options. Obsidian Black, Polar White, and Flare Red.
Now consumers will have the option to pick the Vantum up in Nightfall, Mystic, Helio, and Abyss. The new range of colors will make it way easier for buyers to customize their chairs to fit their gaming setup. All three original colors will also still be available for those who prefer them Herman Miller says. The new Vantum is available starting today for $895, and can be picked up through Herman Miller’s website directly.
While $895 is not cheap for a gaming chair, there’s a reason to go with something like this. Not the least of which is Herman Miller’s 12-year warranty. It’s the comfort. More importantly, the ability for it to support your long-term health. When I reviewed the Herman Miller Vantum following its launch, it was the best chair I had ever sat in. Mainly because it helped me get rid of back and neck pain I had experienced in past chairs. The only better experience I’ve ever had was with Herman Miller’s Embody chair, which I reviewed earlier this year.
The point is, you buy a Herman Miller chair because you don’t want to be left with a sore back or neck after long hours of sitting in the chair gaming.
In addition to new colors, the Herman Miller Vantum comes with a redesigned headrest
A new range of color options is always nice, no matter the product. But it’s also nice when anything that might have needed improvements gets the upgrade treatment. In this case, Herman Miller has updated the headrest on the Vantum.
The overall design is the same. You can still move it vertically and tilt the angle of the headrest to suit your current activity. Herman Miller says it’s now easier to vertically adjust it though. If you’re sitting upright gaming or working, it’s usually more comfortable to adjust the vertical position to be a little higher. However, if you’re leaning back in the chair to relax for a bit, this position can make it harder for it to properly support your neck and the back of your head. So you might want to adjust it to a lower position and tilt the angle of the headset a bit.
Of course, this can vary from person to person. But with easier adjustment, it should be less cumbersome to make these changes, even while sitting in the chair.
All the same features are still there
Aside from the new colors and the enhanced headrest, the Vantum hasn’t changed. It still offers all the same adjustable features that it came with initially. This includes the adjustable arms, as well as the adjustable seat depth, lumbar support, thoracic support, and more. The chair also features numeric tilt settings for when or if you want to lean back. There’s no option to lock the back in place, but you can adjust the tension of the lean so leaning back is actually pretty easy.
